Why would waggy be let go when he is not on much of a wage.is it down to squad numbers ? Doesn't make sense, he is much loved, has passion, a speed bump on the wage bill.

He's not going to get regular first-team football at this level. He was so unlucky not to sign off with a goal.

Morning all, great win and all that, hope Haynes stays, agree waggy is probs off and all that, anyway bbc is truly shocking. Football League show calling Kermorgant a midfielder? Really?! yeah he does play pretty deep but not that deep, either way, gutted Kermit's chip didn't go in, and looking forward to next season, least we have the ashes to keep me entertained in summer, I mean, I'll be working on my dissertation to keep me entertained...

I'll be sad if/when waggy goes, being that he's from my neck of the woods.

But it isn't fair on him if we keep him on the bench - he needs regular first team football.

i think we'll only know for sure when it happens. there seems to be a lot of insistence that it'll happen because it's people ideas of what a rebuild would be like if they had their way. i hope he stays, but you could understand if he was let go - to improve as a football club we need players to improve the first team.

I too think that Waggy will go but will be a shame if he does leave as he's come through the Academy and whenever he steps across that line he gives it his all (unlike some players we've had in recent years)

I dont know if it was because it was his last game (and was trying harder) yet he did seem even quicker than usual.

I reckon wait and see what happens in the transfer market... Maybe sell Green, wait and see if we do sign another right-midfielder and THEN you may see Waggy go... If both Green and Waggy are on their way surely it makes sense to only sell one before bringing in a replacement?

well, i think that he could even stay. they released mambo and sullivan earlier on to give them a chance to get another club. if anyone deserved to be given a early notice "to be fair to them" it'd have been waggy. been with us 8 years, it would have been the least he deserved.

Fair comment as he deserves the most considerate treatment, but there are two possible answers:

    (1) Addick4Life's suggestion that we are waiting to sell Green and get a replacement in first, as we don't want to lose both without at least one new player in.

    (2) Waggy has already agreed a transfer somewhere so he doesn't need extra time to look around.

    and perhaps
    (3) Both Sullivan & Mambo had interest from their loan clubs and Charlton wanted to clarify their futures without delay
