Looking forward to being at this game, even if it’s more like a training session, any chance to cheer the lads on with our incredible away following. Are you up for a pint RTG?
I like this bit a lot: Nick Barnes asked Le Bris if he would urge the fans to be patient, he said: "If it's possible. If it's not possible they can be disappointed. No problem. I can respect that, but at the same time it's important maybe to step back to look around the full season and to understand that this stage is different." Shows that RLB understands the frustration, calmly takes it on the chin and then tries to encourage us to mentally regroup.
"We have spoken to the players and staff, we will work to find the best way to prepare." So it's not just random decisions based on the manager's mood at the time ... ... wow, like it's a proper football club after all!
This is the most crucial part of the season for all teams. Trying to keep players energy high, trying to fight for survival/promotion. Trying to manage personal, team and fan expectations. Manage fitness and squad mentality. All whilst trying to plan for next season. This is not just us but almost every team in the Championship at the minute. We have been consistent almost all season and have shown resilience and talent in equal measure. We have not been perfect but we have been very good and surpassed most peoples expectations. There are a number of fans who had more negative views before the season started and it is funny to hear them moaning now that the team should have done better. It seems as though those withe low expectations are the ones making g the most noise now. At the start of the season I was very optimistic and that optimism has not diminished (I thought we were a good bet for auto's and until recently think we were just about on track) although we have faded a bit at the very end I still expect a resurgence within the team which I wholly belive we be instrumental in promotion. My belief is that the fans will be the catalyst, it is no mystery as to why we seem to come alive during certain periods of games as this coincides with the Stadium coming alive it goes hand in hand team and crowd in harmony. When it is like that we are fantastic, so let's build up some steam and get everybody ready team management and fans for a rousing end to a fantastic season and let's see where we can go. Ohhh and 1-3 to the lads.
Listening to Haway the podcast and they are 100 percent behind Regis. I’m glad people are starting to fight back a bit at the “ win at all costs “ momentum and getting pissed off at losing or drawing drive because they are bringing the vibe down and losing sight of what we have and what we’ve done
It's a really interesting debate like. It's also a roll of the dice to expect these players who have been rested for a while or injured just to come back in and perform on the biggest stage and highest pressure environment possible. They have nailed the colours to the mast and only time will tell if it's the right call.
Only just discovered these I thought roker report had gone quiet, pretty much daily content coming out now idea for the drive to work
Not really, that would mean we're just taking a flier and hoping for the best. The reality is that the manager, coaches, medical staff, etc, will be working with the players, assessing them and using every possible means to prepare them. Le Bris just spelled out how detailed the preparations have been ... ... isn't saying it's just chancing our arm a bit of an insult? I guess it all depends on whether or not you think you know better than the club ... ... it really boils down to whether or not you trust them. But whether you do or not isn't the issue in my opinion. As is the case on Friday our role as supporters is to support the team and get behind them as you say. People keep saying they want to 'build momentum' and use every means to do that. Le Bris has made it clear that the supporters are a big part of that and this is the time for us all to pull together. Anyway, this is RTB's match thread so perhaps not the right place for yet another debate on how we may or may not fail in the playoffs.
No. They will be preparing and doing everything. I do get that. But sport is also built in confidence, momentum and continuity with patterns of play. I do hope we get the full first team out on the grass a couple of games prior to the play offs. We need a good level of performance. Goals have fell off a cliff as have performances.
Yeah fair enough. Match thread. I'll post back on in during the game. Hope everyone enjoys the trip to Bristol. Plenty of bars.
Fantastic interview, full explanation on the whys and wherefores. Promotion via the play offs is the objective and this is basically preparation. We’re going up lads, RLB is king.
Exactly, and we're part of that. There's nothing we can do now but support the team and let them know we're behind them. As @TonyG just said, bringing the vibe down has a knock on effect.
As for the game tomorrow. I hope there is an improved performance, irrespective of who is on the pitch of not. I don't want us to just sit in and roll over, taking wave after wave of attack. We need to show some more attacking intent. I hope it starts in tomorrow's game.
It’s nice seeing people trusting RLB on here unlike the the children on RTG and Twitter throwing their toys out of the pram
I didn’t watch it but get the gist that RLb was supremely calm during the conference which gives me that bit confidence, I’d hate to be Bristol by the way as they just don’t know what team they will be playing against tomorrow if I was one of the players being rested my confidence would be through the roof, being the geek I am introducing these for the first time will be like when all the avengers hero’s came bursting out the portals at the end of the film Endgame let’s have it tomorrow !
That's my biggest frustration with the team, if we showed more attacking intent but lost there wouldn't be anywhere near as much fallout after a game. Football is an entertainment sport, sitting back and inviting wave after wave of attacks when we 100% have the players to be on the offensive is not entertaining.
