Agree with Nakhi being offered new contract, the terms will obviously have to be greatly reduced so whether he accepts, I assume, will depend on what other offers he gets,. Antoine is a no brainier, the others remain to be seen who’s been offered what, and whether they accept.
Nigel Pearson drops contracts bombshell as Bristol City form January transfer window strategy Bristol City want those on expiring deals to know where they stand, as January looms with the potential for the club to trade and bring in reinforcements https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/bristol-city-contracts-transfer-pearson-7963702
Pulled this from NPs latest bombshell -have to say 100% behind him on this. “I remember when I first came here, there was an air of - lazy, don’t work hard enough, not bothered about the team; and so last week’s game, after the game, people then get upset when I have a go at players, tough I’m afraid, because we can’t afford to have people under-par, whether that be in training or games. I’m not talking about mistakes, I’m talking about having a drive to be the best versions of themselves every time.
Lansdown split the fanbase 5 years ago and to this day you and Supcon are examples of fans conflicted by LJ's appointment. Every opportunity is taken to hark back to a different time where signings were like confetti. You go on about Lansdown wanting progress after LJ. Don't we all ? For various reasons, some you choose to ignore, it hasn't happened. You talk about poor coaching, Scott and Conway debunk that one. It's blindingly obvious the lack of talent at the back which is the problem and until money appears from somewhere we'll struggle. Pearson doesn't endear himself to me that much, I don't understand him selecting round pegs in square holes or when he arrogantly dismisses a journalist's question. However even with no money I think we have a chance, not much, to avoid relegation with Pearson staying in charge.
For many years I have wondered what goes on behind close doors that makes us so ineffective at moving forward. It appears to me that we live in a football wilderness where angels and decent footballers and managers fear to tread. Along with those traits we have a wonderful academy that has developed some tasty treats over the years only to see them move on to better days, and who can blame them given our inability to create an atmosphere of positivity and future growth? This January appears to be heading down the clearance road leaving us with a bare bones squad topped up with academy and cheap imports which doesn't bode well for our chances of staying in the Championship. The attitude of Pearson doesn't thrill me but that is what we have and we will probably stick with him for the remainder of the campaign only hoping that his personal commitment is up to the task. New Year is always a time of hope and forward vision so let's just hope our wishes all come true, especially when it comes to our favourite football team.
Since writing the above I've listened to NP's interview. Very interesting and informative. I did note one comment of his, 'there is a thirst for negative news'. Does it strike a chord with 2 on here ?
Nigel Pearson makes Rob Atkinson admission for West Brom and gives verdict on Baggies revival Bristol City host an improving West Brom side at Ashton Gate on Boxing Day https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/pearson-rob-atkinson-west-brom-7964515
Nigel Pearson delivers Antoine Semenyo transfer update and responds to Celtic and Rangers links Antoine Semenyo is one of the obvious candidates in the Bristol City squad who could raise revenue in January or the summer https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/pearson-semenyo-celtic-rangers-transfer-7964182
What and you didn't have a thirst for negative news between 2016 & 2020? Are you winding me up? Just being realistic...........thirst for negative news?? ...what fighting to avoid relegation? OK maybe you're positive regarding league 1 football next season
the whole media knows that negative news [ bad news ] sells and is far more likely to travel the distance... good news is pretty good for a day maybe?

We have had thirty years plus of underachievement on the pitch-for me NP has been brought in to sort this **** show out.I was fully aware it was going to be tough but once he has sorted it and yes I’m prepared to wait as I have been waiting over 30 years to see top flight football again at Ashton Gate Stadium this football club has wasted millions and millions on the pitch. The man sorted Leicester City into a quality premiership football club.Let him do his job -it was never going to happen in a couple of years. We all want wins but the rebuild on and off the pitch is truly in motion.
