This is annoying. https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/news/bristol-news/sporting-quarter-development-could-abandoned-8818062 I wouldn’t be surprised if this makes SL abandon Bristol altogether and go and invest in a city which embraces his initiatives instead of fights them all the time.
They need to make their mind up what that land actually is. It can’t be village green and land waste. SL should say, if it’s land waste site we are going to build a stadium there. If it’s not then we build houses.
The stadium is water under the bridge, money spent on AG upgrade. As for the waste management company the present application takes their concerns into consideration, don’t see they’ve got a case personally

To be fair SL has not sorted a new contract with NP then Nige could very well be interested-my gut feeling he would not want to live in Scotland unless his misses was happy-plus he kids are grand children are down south.
I don’t think he’ll be offered it, if he is I’ve no idea if he’d take it. The mood music isn’t great at BS3, SL never praises Nige, that doesn’t mean he doesn’t rate him and we’ve no idea what the relationship is like behind the scenes, but outwardly it doesn’t seem great. SL doesn’t like criticism or someone who stands up to him, which I imagine Nige would. I remember when Nige criticised our previous transfer strategy and how it went down like a lead balloon. If he feels undervalued and another club wants him… who knows. Sign him up sooner rather than later I say.
To be quite frank Ashton If SL don't offer Nige a new deal or Nige walks due to issues behind the scenes then that tells you-me and all Bristol City fans how ambitious this owner is. I have been watching city since a nipper with my Dad and have had STs for the last 25 consecutive seasons. Apart from the legend Alan Dicks and Gary Johnsons one season playoff push which ended poorly and most recently Steve Cotterill's double we have had nothing to shout about. I was amazed when SL went after NP and got his man and thank him for bringing such a high quality well respected manager in and turning Bristol City around in such a short time. SL lets all this good work go to waste then more fool him. Nige must be kept on and if he walks then Bristol City will go backwards bigtime. over to you SL.
You keep saying about all the good work, but what is it really? I’ve said before, in order to slash the wage bill, he simply let contracts run out. That isn’t worthy of special praise in my book. The performances are erratic and often lack an identity. We have finished in the lower half of the table in each of his 2.5 seasons, again, not worthy of praise. NP is doing an ok job for me, but what is the aim for the club, what target has SL set him? Maybe he isn’t hitting those targets and that’s why SL is reluctant to offer another contract. What a manager did elsewhere in his career helps get you a job, what you do in the job determines if you keep it or not.
We know that’s your opinion, it’s not one shared by many of us, just keep saying it won’t change our opinions. As we’ve said many times we believe what he’s achieved so far, whilst managing the books deserves another contract, and more importantly investing some of the “nest egg”.
Am I remembering correctly that when Nige was in charge at Leicester in the Prem, they were doomed for relegation? He had the players but struggled to get them playing consistently.....Introduction of Claudio Ranieri, changed all of that and the following season went on to be crowned champions.. My take on the situation currently, is that he has great internal club management skills but lacks in the tactician department on the pitch... it's not really a dig but more of an observation to what I've seen over the last couple of seasons.... It's weird, some games for about 30 mins we can look world beaters but then we have a tendency to completely breakdown, lose concentration and fall apart.....is that totally down to the players or lack of instruction from the sidelines?..

Of the players out of contract next summer, Matty James looks the only one we should be looking to tie down ASAP. Weimann and Williams, I think we should be looking to sell in Jan, and replace. King will most likely join the coaching staff.
