From ball boy to an unlikely reunion: Ross McCrorie is building new connections at Bristol City Ross McCrorie's move to Bristol City has been a leap into the unknown to a certain extent, but he's had plenty of help to soften his landing in the West Country https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/ross-mccrorie-bristol-city-ballboy-8617721
Alex Scott gives a glimpse of something that may never happen for Bristol City Bristol City's prized asset appeared noticeably more attacking in his approach as the Robins thrashed Swindon Town https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/alex-scott-bristol-city-8613427
It’s a part of his game he needs to work on, I’m sure he will. He’d still vary young, I hope he does it with us, but it’s looking less and less likely.
I just hope this bright young talent doesn't get his head turned by the wrong thing for his future. Sitting on the bench, even though you are paid very well, is never a good thing for the mind of an up and coming potential star who wants to really progress his career. A transfer with a loan back could suit both parties the best as it would give Alex a good amount of playing time with the possibility of moving up the ladder to the Premier League next season if the deal still works the way it was intended. Looking back at the 50 million or so that Man Utd forked out for Zaha all those years ago with him immediately loaned back to Palace, where he still is for now I think. That deal almost seemed like a loan to Selhurst Park rather than a transfer but Scott will be a different kettle of fish. Good luck to him but I think another year at Ashton Gate might be the right move.
The problem is he is in a good point of his metamorphis should he stay till say Christmas and we are top 8 handful of points from top 2 and he has 6 goals and say 5 assists £25m is water under the bridge!i hope he stays or the add on package is at least £10m ........... !
LEICSTER CITY have banked their parachute payment and a further £60m quid so far .... also unloaded quite a few players on free's

football gone mad.............. Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal have made a world record £259m bid for Paris St-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe, reports the Press Association. The 24-year-old France captain, who has a year left on his contract, has refused to sign an extension at the French champions and was not part of the pre-season tour to Japan.
I hope PSG sell him, and he gets stuck in a Mickey Mouse league. Players need to learn they don’t call all the shots.
THEY ARE SPENDING £bn's and each team will it seems be just foreigners from a myriad of other countries ... wonder how much they pay for AS ? ... £100m?
The Fulham manager has also turned down the chance to manage in Saudi Let’s see a few more not willing to relocate there with their appalling human rights record and treatment of women But then again it didn’t stop Beckham. Lineker and Neville taking blood money for the last World Cup in Qatar
I will leave judgment till I’ve seen him, but all the reports seem good, looking forward to see him play.
Anybody, not including the super greedy and those with their brains disappearing up their own arses, should avoid Saudi money with a with a very long barge pole. The Premier League have been looking the other way when filthy money is spent on buying up clubs like Newcastle, despite so called checks and measures being applied during the negotiations that are intended to sort out only suitable candidates, and I can't see the oversight working on any future buy-outs. The smelly money in football starts right at the top with the likes of Platini and Blatter because I will never believe that either of them are as squeaky clean as they proclaim. The Englishmen who took the bait offered are no better and should be ashamed of themselves, but money is more important to them than being despised for their greed and cynicism. To hell with all of the greedy jerks and I have to say I am looking forward to the opening of the 2023/24 campaign with baited breath like I haven't for years. I have come to the conclusion that all of the huge sums of moolah being spent by the sport doesn't mean a thing to me anymore, so I'll stick to the game that gives me the most pleasure and that is a league where everyone puts out their best effort without earning 250,000 a week. Party on.
I agree, I understand they have a relatively short career, and are one serious injury away from their career ending, but a 4or 5 year contract even at championship level pretty much sets you up for life. There is no need to earn the type of money the Saudi’s are offering. I want us to get promotion because I want us to be successful, I am cheesed off having to sell our better players to the likes of Bournemouth, and possibly Brentford, but do I want all that goes with being in the PL?, probably not if I’m honest.
I’m 100% in this boat. The gap is too big to bridge between the top 6-7 teams. Even when teams do well, use Brighton as an example, and they get all their top players stripped away, and will probably struggle over the next couple of seasons.
We get most of our top players stripped away by the temptation of the Premier League just to survive in the Championship. I wouldn't mind us getting there and telling all of our player that got us there to stand fast and enjoy playing in the top flight, which they rightly earned. If by chance we were relegated we wouldn't need to dump overpaid newbies, as they wouldn't exist (maybe), and we would get the parachute payments to fill our coffers. I have always felt that if your play was instrumental in getting us up to the Premier League then you deserve the right to stay put and enjoy the rewards. All of the other nonsense needs to be thrown into touch and play the game with abandon and don't pay ludicrous fees for what are essentially mercenaries looking for big pay packets.
