There is no question that Zak has upped his game this season and eliminated most of the errors that had him in my bad books. I was a regular in the criticism department last campaign but despite his obvious improvement I could still have problems with him essentially being one of the building blocks for the future of Bristol City. If we assume that Alex Scott will leave us during the summer break I truly don't see many other players who could be called certainties for next season, and so far I have seen nothing in Mehmeti or Cornick to set my beating heart on fire. We will enter yet another summer of uncertainty regarding the starting line-up to take the field in August and I wonder what on earth Nigel will be allowed to do to meet the promotion hopes of our owner? Interesting if nothing else and whether or not we can make the grade after so many seasons of promises that never generated the promise necessary to hit the target.
Torquay came so very close to regaining their league status 2 years ago in the Playoff Final at Ashton Gate against Hartlepool (who themselves are in serious trouble in L2), but they then lost a lot of their best players and have really struggled this season. It's not impossible for them to escape relegation back to the National League South but they will need to put a string of wins together starting against well placed Eastleigh tomorrow. Yeovil are at Aldershot. Gary Johnson has been at Torquay since 2018 but I don't think he's had a lot of money to spend since 2021. Maidstone are already down, and Scunthorpe are likely to fill another relegation place. It would indeed be a disaster for the west country if Yeovil and Torquay fill the other 2 places.

He started well due to a friendly young man (repaying a lifetime of playing contracts) loaning some of our better youngsters. When that young man was sacked the BCFC tap was turned off. Been downhill ever since.
Family ties can be good but then there are examples of the other side of the issue. I can remember talking to a PNE supporter who told me that when Darren Ferguson was manager he got several good players on loan from Man Utd but when he was sacked all of those involved in the loans were immediately recalled to Old Trafford and another couple were recalled by Stoke City. The supporters were not happy campers and spat at the mere mention of Sir Alex - go figure.
I rented a house to my dad at ‘mates rates’ I now rent one to my son at well below market price. Call it Nepotism if you like. Others may call it back-scratching. For me it’s family helping family. They get a cheap house and I get a reliable tenant, whom I trust, whilst my stock rises. Win-win all round.
My wife and I are “renting” a house from our son but paying nothing. He says he’s repaying the tens of thousands we put into him whilst growing up and building his business. To me, what goes round, comes round!
Absolutely. I only charged my dad the cost of the mortgage and the insurance because I couldn’t afford to pay it on my own. He was paying £500pm for a 3 bed in Swindon. Currently it’s rental market value is £1,100pm. Crazy money - and unsustainable imho.
potentially all teams including City cannot make the play off's SO OUR SEASON IS OVER just playing for the points now or the experience of junior players Watford Sunderland and WBA need to win all remaining games but SUNDERLAND play WBA and WATFORD!

I have never seen a photo of a robin looking like that but perhaps there are more bird folk on the board at BCFC than I imagined. Still looks weird to me, so is the photo doctored creating fake birds?
To be fair, Robins can be really assy, territorial birds. Is this the groundwork for making BS3 a fortress?
During covid I set up a bird table in an out of the way place, built up a sort of trust based on the same thing they do at Swanage whistling/ calling. I would set up the tripod then whistle a " tune short repetitive" and up to 9 different species would come to feed. Taking multi shots, 5 at the press of the button, you could get pictures like the one above .... The one on the shirt is a line drawing from the print from the pic above it. 10 INSTEAD OF 12 WING FEATHERS is about the only difference .... but toward the tip this would be harder to put on shirt extra lines. Impose one over the other and the print is almost identical. Photo is with a nod to Getty images owner of the photo which is being used to highlight a comparison.

the last half dozen! Usually EASTER [ after it gives a good pointer as to who has succeeded or llost the battle! TODAY the top 2 play each other none of the other top 8 do! IT is the same at the bottom.. Cardiff v Sunderland [ 11th ] Huddersfield v Blackburn [ 6th ] Wigan v Swansea [15th ] Norwich [ 7th ] v Rotherham WBA [ 10th ] v QPR PNE [ 8th ] v Reading Luton [ 3rd ] v Blackpool WIGAN and BLACKPOOL looked doomed so 1 place to be avoided!!! ...22nd arguably of the remaining 5 best chance of 3 pts has to be Cardiff Maybe Reading [ real = 47 pts ] away to PNE certainly contender for 1 pt along with Huddersfield [ local derby ]
could have so nearly won it extra time equaliser and subjected to just 19% of the game and defended 21 shots 11 on target and defended 10 corners gave away 5 fouls of the 12 ... who is this manager!!!.......... none other than our old mate!
