SkySport Semenyo set for Bournemouth medical Bristol City striker Antoine Semenyo is heading for his Bournemouth medical after the two clubs agreed a deal. Bournemouth will pay £9m plus add-ons for the Ghana striker who has scored eight goals in all competitions this season for Bristol City. Personal terms are not thought to be a problem. Bournemouth had two bids rejected last week by Bristol City but have got their man at the third time of asking despite late interest from Crystal Palace, who remain interested in the player.
Bristol City start transfer search for striker as Antoine Semenyo Bournemouth bid accepted Bristol City have accepted a bid from AFC Bournemouth for Antoine Semenyo - but what are the Robins’ plans now in the transfer window? https://www.bristolworld.com/sport/...oine-semenyo-bournemouth-bid-accepted-4002459
Let's hope the 'add-on's' are substantial. If Bournemouth get relegated, any sell on value will likely decrease. I hope we didn't jump to early on this sale...?
I would hope they have at least 1 or 2 options ready to move on immediately. We need a pace option to mitigate the loss of AS.
He was mentioned a while back, think he burned his bridges not giving his all whilst running his contract down, I can’t see Nige wanting that kind of attitude
such a shame but inevitable I suppose. Thanks for the memories Antoine….. here are some of them: https://www.skysports.com/ipad/liveArticle/12476234?postid=5305114#liveblog-body
The late January fire sale has begun in earnest with Dan Bentley having left and Antoine Semenyo looking to be on his way out the door. I am disappointed at the money received for Antoine (if the rumours are true) even though there are supposed add-ons somewhere down the line as I think we didn't stick to the rules of engagement by holding out for more. I wish him all the best but I think he may be back at Ashton Gate next season, assuming we survive, possibly regretting his decision to join a nice club and playing in front of 10,000 instead of 20,000. However if you are earning bigger bucks then who gives a rat's arse about the team that essentially made you, but despite my concerns about him not being ready for the big time I wish him all the best of luck. Dan Bentley saved our bacon in many matches and I failed to see why he became second choice but again I wish him all the best in the Premiership. All we have to do now is await the major team changing arrivals which I presume will come from lower leagues, if at all, and I noticed it was NP who announced the Semenyo situation which I found surprising after his comment about not being involved in transfers. Five days left to stun us all into submission or delirium - your choice.
Selling our best players have become a habit when we need them!! The replacement will be interesting!
Agree,Let’s hope it doesn’t back fire on us. We are rather short of fit attacking options, if Wells gets injured we are well and truly stuffed.
They were quick to replace Bents, they need to be equally quick to bring in a decent striker, either purchase or a loan to get us through till the summer
Are there any possibilities being mentioned to fill the gaps, or are we going to go with what we have and pocket the money? We need aces up the sleeves and some of those rabbits that pop out of hats to make us more competitive, and unless we do then I fear for what may happen over the next few months. Maybe we are at the point where we have lost our way again with very little idea of where we go from here so that leaves us hoping that someone in the organization can tell the difference between right and wrong. Who that person is begs the question - who? Could it be our outgoing Chairman, Nigel Pearson or the tea lady?
Crystal Palace potential hijack Bristol Live understands Crystal Palace have attempted a late hijack on Bournemouth's deal to sign Semenyo but they have had little success. Perhaps a factor is that it's too little, too late after City gave them ample opportunity to make their move this morning following Bournemouth's third and final offer.
He said in his press interview we’ve a player lined up already. But don’t expect one that’s going to cost millions. Just been tweeted Harry Cornick
I think JGF has been asked to dig out his brown leather boots from the football stuff in his loft. They are there with the brown leather laced ball and knee-length shorts
I wasn’t supposed to say anything but Nige phoned me this morning, I’ve a medical lined up for tomorrow morning. £20 per week and I’ve to provide my own boots, I’m trying to negotiate it to £20m a week and want the club to provide my boots.
