    Rangel - secunda B
Ash - Stockport County via Hednesford after being let go by West Brom
    Taylor - Wrexham
Dyer - Southampton (in League 1 at the time?...maybe wrong, oh and he'd been put out on loan several times and hardly ever got a game)
    Britton - rejected...too small
Siggurdson - Hoffenheim reserves (ok I'm stretching this a bit now :)
Graham - was let go by Boro...we were trying to sign him at Carlisle, had to pay an awful lot more signing him from a bigger club

There's a theme there. One I believe Jenkins was trying to remind everyone of in the Post today.
I'm not saying let's sign Ribeiro and stick him in the team...for all I know he's crocked. I'm just asking if he and others might be worth a punt as they're young and once showed potential.

If you think these guys never had potential or are probably crocked, fair enough....but don't tell me Derek McInnes or any other manager is infallible, or we should sign only players from bigger clubs, or never take a punt on youngsters who've been let go.
We are not Man City, we are not even QPR. For that matter we won't be able to out spend Southampton, Reading or West Ham.

"For that matter we won't be able to out spend Southampton , Reading or West Ham " ..... & who wants to ... Ya can't teach young swans bad old tricks . Lets do what we do best , like your post says , pick up the pieces of good careers gone bad . . Worked all the way from League 1 to a 2nd season in the Premier .

Terror, i can see your point, but all the players mentioned were not being released by their clubs as not good enough. The players mentioned above by you were seen as their clubs assests, appart from siggy, who was comming back from injury.

Bristols players are being released as not good enough for the championship. Yes there are players in the lower leagues. But lets go after players teams see as assets and not the ones deemed surplus to requirement.

Why not let these players drp down the leagues and gain some confidence as ash did. then maybe pick them up. What chance would ribiero have here. he would be placed in tthe reserves playing against 17 year olds. needs to drop down th leagues and start again.

I am not saying we should be sending masses of money. But i thought we can do better than them.

If you look at certain clubs there looks an abundance of players that could genuinely strengthen us.
I'll let you decide on the players but I think we could cherry pick 3 or 4 quality additions from Wolves, WBA,Blackburn,Wigan,Bristol City,Ipswich,West Ham or Forest
