Henderson has looked great when ever I have seen him play. Gerkin and Henderson should play in all our cup games, and when we are out they will be allowed on loan to where ever they fancy. Surly doing a full season on loan at Exeter or Yeovil while on City wages is better than signing for them, he would surly be earning himself a little more while also knowing he had a move to a Championship team prebooked.
No,you will own the stadium but not the land, you are leasing it from UWE..... UWE are the landowners..... http://info.uwe.ac.uk/news/UWENews/news.aspx?id=1983
When I was studying at UWE the locals would threaten to key students cars if they parked in their housing estate, which was rich as the university pre-dates the estate. I'd imagine nothing short of a holy way erupting from their side in regards to the new UWE stadium.
the lease is ours for 999 years. we wont be paying them rent as they have access to the stadium to use it on non match days and the other facilities like the bar/pub. the access we will give them financially covers the rent that we would pay, hense the 'debt free' quote from higgs
You've got to hand it to the Rovers board really, they've come up with a plan and are putting it in place to try to recoup some of the money that their fourth manager in a season is spending on more utter dross. However, coming up with another fairy story to get the desperate blue few to buy season tickets, may or may not work. (but knowing Rovers fans as we do it's a shoe in)
So now we've established that you don't own the land but lease it,you then say you are debt free, how are the pair of you going to get £60m to invest in the develpment..? The minimal is worth about, being generous, say £20m,where is the rest coming from if you don't go back into debt, borrowing it.
They won't be borrowing anything from anyone wiz, this is a ploy by the blue fews board to convince their fans to part with cash in the short term for season tickets because they are in the basement division. The planning permission on The Memorial Stadium will lapse, leaving them exactly where they are now, but they'll justify the failure of this 'new stadium' on something else, it's been going on for 20+ years.
natch, our 4th manager didnt spend any money or make any signings. wiz, the link i provided earlier in this thread, just the 1st minute alone answers your question. btw, its £40million not £60million. i think your 'generous' quote of £20million for the mem is less that what has been quoted on our fans forum by members who apparently have 'sources'. some have said £25-30million! but say your right, £20million, we need another £20million. we have money available which was going to be used purely for the re-developement of the mem. we have enough. as higgs said, we have enough to end up being debt free not owing anyone there is only 1 issue. thats getting the planning permission for the new stadium and the developement of the mem. but its looking good
your last comment natch, normally i would say your right. our history of promises by our board suggest this will fail. but something is very different with this plan. we have south gloucestershire council up for it, uwe up for it. bristol rugby up for it. the positives are much more better than the small negatives. the locals wont win this one. only problems is the mem getting planning permission. from what i heard, as its not just going to be sainsburys, the non city supporters will be happy as well. just down to the bristol city council to allow it. rovers have been working with them for the last 2 years about this and sounds promising but we all know our local council!
'The agreement represents a significant investment of approximately £60 million in first class facilities that bring added value to the city and the region. The stadium will be known as the ‘UWE Stadium' This comes from the UWE press statement that I put the link up for and it states £60m,I can only state the facts as they are supplied, what sources say £40m...?
To be honest I can't see it happening but if they do pull it off then I for one would be happy to be a fan of the ONE TEAM IN BRISTOL
I read in another of Mr Higgs reports that they will renew the planning application, that is due to be renewed after the current one runs out at the minimal for a new stadium, this taking place on November 17th,just in case.. Can't be all that much of a certainty, his confidence isn't that high, this new one is obviously going to have problems and take a long time...
wiz, my sourse was the link i provided in this thread, higgs says it himself in the very 1st minute of his interview. i did state that in my last comment to you mind natch, i dont know when sainsburys release their plans for the mem when they disclose what other developments will be going on, but thats the big one for us. no point even spending money on planning permission for the new stadium if sainsburys dont get their planning permission. so their details will be interesting as everyone thinks it will be just a supermarket but higgs thinks other developments with sainsburys will impress the locals. im looking forward to seeing their plans.
Don't need another supermarket in the area ,you've already got 13 with-in a mile and a half radius of the minimal..... Just noticed the reference to the Higgs statement, you've got one of the partners saying £60m as quoted in the link, the other partner saying £40m as in the link, who is telling the truth, the left hand doesn't know what the right is doing, who do you believe, what a bunch of posers, you can't trust them as far as you can throw them... Typical "gasheads",talk about history repeating itself..
