Excellent stuff. I once lived in North Bucks in the horrible days I had to work for someone else. MK was always soulless, even then. This pretend Paddy hated it. Couldn't wait to get back to Norfolk. Good result for you guys all the same. Are we keeping your place warm? Who knows, maybe.
Just watched the game, well happy with the result. Good first half, missed chances and some early balls forward caused MK problems. Second half was an exercise in defence and we did pretty good at it. We played a dirty second period, a few lads 'took one for the team' and man, what a whack in the face for Knudsen. We were physical and abrasive and it got the job done. Referee was on our side on most decisions except I can't believe Sears was called offside when clean through as the move started in our half. Gerken can keep his place if he pulls off saves like that all the time, had nothing to do all game and then was alert for a flurry of activity towards the end, well played. If you're not going to spend big for top quality in this division and you want to be competitive then being the strong team that we are will get you results. I don't reckon too many like playing us.
San Diego you've hit the nail on the head and I don't need to expand apart from - * We won get in 3 points on the board. * We're NOT going to come top 4 this season it's impossible infact it appears 6th is the max and we're in the mix so lets enjoy it ! Bring on the FULHAM!
Me too Westy but i think it could be downhill now, for a good few weeks anyway. Hope im wrong but boy have we got to improve, its all very well beating teams down the bottom but we now have to show against the better teams and if the Midds game is anything to go on.....
Only 9 points away from automatic promotion place so I would say it is far from impossible to finish higher than 6th............more than half the season to go.......other teams are just as likely to have a bad spell.......Coyb.
If we can get most of our unfit/injured/recovering players back on the park or on bench, then we do have some seriously good options. As our defense grows stronger and able to withstand a bit of a battering, we know its our middle that needs more creative flair and distribution. I am talking about the talented quartet of Oar, Fraser, Bru & Bish - all yet to feature regularly this season, all youngish, and all should be given time on the turf. If we do pick up pts next 2-3 difficult games, I see these 4 adding great strength in depth and MM rotating more players. And Chambo one of concerns is learning his FB craft...or so he says! If we are still 6th by the New Year...we have a bright New Year ahead!
Not seen enough of Oar to know if he's any good....but Fraser back is a big plus and a fit Bishop another bonus.......for me the jury is still out on Bru not that I think he is a bad player I'm just not convinced he is the creative answer.
Bru for me is at his best in a 4-3-3 with license to roam. In a 4-4-2 Mick side I don't trust him at CM as the " firm base " and not sure he's a " hug the touchline " winger so I think he may be the fall guy. Certainly a good squad member, so we need him back fit. Sooner Fraser and Bishop are fully fit the better, especially Fraser. One of the best in the league.
