He was one of our better performers at Old Trafford and based on that alone I have no idea why he's not played more for us this season. 4-5-1 could be a good move tonight - think we'd get ripped open with 4-4-2. Niles has pace but his positioning leaves a lot to be desired ( same as Bru ) so if we're trying to go back to hard to beat again first and foremost players having to cover them two out of the ball may not be in Mick's thinking.
Many have called for a shake up and to try something different.............I'm sure nobody will moan when Mick shakes things up and tries something different............unless he shakes it up differently from how they would like it shaken up and the different thing he tries is different from the different thing they wanted to see tried............it's a funny old game. Tbh I thought it was to bring Bru into the midfield......... But you can't have a team picked by the fans that's the managers job.......and I know you'll never agree with a choice made by Mick.
Scrolling down the line up saw the first 5 and thought here we go again. Same old same old, then I saw the other 6. It's pleasing that he's mixed it up. Little confused at the choices made - would have liked to see Skuse instead of Douglas, although that's probably a pinch of scapegoating. Think we probably are prioritising not conceding, which needs to happen but it is a shame we've lost confidence in more ' exciting' football. I'm going for a dumbfounding 1-0 win.
Encouraging start...but don't see where the goals are coming from. Now, if nothing happens, bring on Freddie and we may have something approaching a 'new' team!
