Not to mention one of those long throws led to Middlesbrough counter-attacking us and scoring their second goal. I guess we're used to attacking aerial balls, so it's part of 'playing to our strengths'. However, I think we have the capacity to play attacking, exciting football (see the start of this season, for example), but with players like Fraser, Bishop, and Bru all out injured, that style becomes harder and less effective to implement.

One of my main concerns is the continued exclusion of Tommy Oar. Obviously Mick and the coaching staff see what he's like in training, and they presumably know whether to include him or not. While he was a free signing, and so relatively low-risk, this is a player with a good reputation, an excellent winger and set-piece taker if his playing history is any indication, and apparently came in rather high demand around Europe. He probably cannot fit into a 4-3-3, although the defeat against Middlesbrough underlined that any perception that Miles is a centre midfielder should be forgotten.

Im fairly happy with the management and the squad save for the subject that weve done to death in FBs and GK, its not a squad to set the division alight but we already know this and without reinforcements we have a mid table safe Championship side that will not be relegated, we made the play offs last season and might do again this season but promotion? I think not unless we get some quality players to fill the weak areas, you cant make a silk purse out of a sows ear.

Sorry boys but over ten years in the same division speaks it's own sorry tale. We haven't been good enough to go up and although we have given it a good go at times we aren't bad enough to go down.

Mediocrity is basically all we aspire to and how fooking depressing is that!

It feels like death by a 1000 cuts and I can't see it ever changing while Evans strangles us to death.

Lots of quality posts and nice IM, thanks Warky.

So, as we all know, we urgently need to give 2 fresh FBs a game or 3, 2 new CMs a game or 10, and while Freddie is def prem quality one day, Skuse is not! In short, our midfield was dire 2nd half. They went seriously awol. Ainsley I thought played his socks off, added at least some creativity..but he is very young still. A good thing.

And re-establish the wingers please as soon as. What is Fraser's injury? Lets give Oar another shout.

Just maybe by New Year, we can all get fired up again with the likes of Bish, Bru, Varney...and Yowerth brought back.

That's a good shout gaffer, what is the situation with the injured players? Bishop hasn't played all season, Bru was crocked in the first game at Brentford came back for a few games but is missing again, Fraser, Varney, Hyam out on loan, we get encouraging news now and again but when are they coming back?

We have to take it easy with Teddy. Shin splints are touchy and are only healed with time and care, seeing as how they are caused by overworking and young athletes are more susceptible to suffer with them. Varney is back playing and getting pitch time with the development squad and Hyam is getting up to speed out on loan. Not overly bothered about McG to be honest but do want to see Bru back playing again,
