" Ficking hilarious, the defence has tightened up etc, we played the team bottom of the table ffs, so we should win and keep a clean sheet. "

Oh I forgot we check the league table, and automatically get a clean sheet and a win as standard, if only football was done on paper.

Three clean sheets in 5 Spanish to me indicate the defence is improving................

And no, in closing, Spanish is incapable of enjoying a win under Mick. Fair enough if people want to be bitter and " I'm right you're wrong " all the time but we're 10th - funnily enough he quite liked KEANE.................... Jesus christ.

Nice to get a win again.
Celebrated Pitman's goal whilst filling my car up at the petrol station, some crazy Englishman pumping his fists, a weird sight to be sure <laugh>

    Well done ITFC.

You've got to try and enjoy the good times though when they come along. With all the doom and gloom recently I think we've actually turned a corner. I know Bolton were pretty poor tonight, but it sounded like we played really well which will do wonders for confidence. Only 4 defeats out of 15, not too shabby. Glad to see the likes of Douglas, Murphy, Bru, Pitman all having a decent game.

If that had been me, I would have accidentally sprayed petrol all over the station!

Yep, Castro, nail on the head. Seems like, with a more attacking line-up, we moved the ball forward better. And very encouraging to hear Murph played really well. With Bish, Fraser & co to come back, it could be an exciting Xmas period!

If we do beat Rotheram, then I too think we have at last turned the corner! But......no, lets think positive!

well a rather mixed game for me.

    Plus points
beautiful, almost counter attacking second goal.
a couple of attempts from outside the area (1st ones this season?).
MM not taking off a forward thinking player with 10 minutes left to tighten us up.
Douglas pushing forward. A clean sheet.
A couple of put your bodies on the line clearances from Chambers.
Sears - just a constant threat and great workrate.
MM to his credit was trying to urge us forward aswell

    Bad points
we were never in danger but Bolton played the better football and if they had a decent striker could have and probably should have got something from the game.
Knudsen is just poor. His long throws dont reach a Town player, his short ones are illegal, his positioning is poor and he seems unsure.
Niles just seems to lightweight to be a starter. Although he scored (keeper error? not sure from the wrong end of the pitch) he just doeesnt do enough to influence the game.
Murphy is just not doing it. Im not sure if its a confidence thing but he just hasnt got that look of a threat currently.
Anyone with a tricky winger/ wide man with pace knows how to undo us.

Overall an improvement in terms of tempo and ambition but we allowed Bolton to play decent football and they seemed to have a lot of possession. Once or twice we let them play then broke, especially on goal 2, but it almost seemed like we approached the game like we were playing the run away leaders not a team of strugglers. It was a performance of let them pass the ball nicely around the centre of the pitch and try to hit them if they try to get near our goal.
A better performance but nothing to get to excited about.

finally Gerken player of the month - is that a protest vote or have people really lost the plot?

Its a step in the right direction but that's all it is and I don't hear anyone saying we are world beaters, theres room for improvement all over the park but the performance was much better and we could have had 4 or 5 goals but for goal line clearances and good saves from their keeper Amos. Can we be consistent? Can we play well away from home?We wont have long to wait to find out, anyone else going to Rotherham? Tickets are dirt cheap compared to ours.

I thought K'nudsen had a decent game, IMO Murphy had he best game for a long while and I think this was a contributing factor in us playing well.

...and has anyone mentioned T.Smith Cruyff turn...
