Why are you so angry about this? It really should be something that can be just be discussed in a civil manner without you constantly trying to belittle anyone who disagrees with you. I just can't get my head around why it upsets you so much that not everyone agrees with you on such a trivial matter.

You can post that as often as you like, but as most of the goals conceded were down to defensive errors rather than goalkeeping ones, it's completely misleading and proves absolutely nothing. I think Jakupovic should have been playing since the cup game, but a lot of stuff being posted about Marshall is complete bollocks.

OK that's great. Don't you think it's pretty meaningless though?

I mean, Jak played what four or five games? So straight away it's far too small a sample to get any really worthwhile data from.

Obviously every game is different, the shots faced are totally different along with everything else. The only way you can compare is anecdotally, by looking at great saves you don't expect a keeper to make, errors you don't expect a keeper to make, and anything else relevant such as how safe and reliable they are with crosses etc.

The most common anecdotal stuff on here is along the lines of "Jak shouts and beats his chest and stuff" as well as huge logical leaps based on no evidence suggesting that the defence trust him more.

It doesn't really matter even if Jakupovic was playing as well as people on here think he is. The fact is we have a first choice keeper and keepers don't just get dropped and rotated every week, so he'll be dropped when he plays poorly enough to cause us a problem, and not before then. The fact that the team have conceded a lot of goals isn't usually blamed on the keeper once you get past the age of about 6. People generally realise that there's a team responsibility to defending. That's why no one outside of Hull is talking about Marshall. Some others keepers such as the Liverpool guy have had criticism and rightly so, for making mistakes. Marshall hasn't made mistakes. This is a storm in a tea cup.

Poor, poor PLT. It doesn't upset me in the slightest. There's just no justification on performance alone (supported by all recognised football statistics for Marshall to be in the side at present) yet people who don't attend games seem to think to the contrary like they are some sort of footballing guru. Playing Marshall is costing us points, it's quite simple. At his average of conceding 2.5 goals a game we're having to score 3 to get anything out of a game - do you see that happening regularly? Last game was more than likely the exception to the rule.

There's only probably a few people on here that I frequently have run ins with, no big deal.

Aside from the fact the defence clearly play in front of Marshall with much less confidence, stay nearby as he's likely to make a mistake.

Those first three words really suggest that you are upset. Why else would you be so desperate to try and take the piss?

That's the kind of thing I meant by "huge logical leaps based on no evidence". How could one possibly observe that?

Being at games helps, you get to see real live action. Try it some time.

The opposition find it easier to take shots at goal if the defence is sat deep, which is why Marshall is conceding goals at an alarming rate.

He's not saving many which indicates the opposition are closer to the goal. Generally accepted that it's easier to score between the 6yd and 18yd line.

You are looking for something that isn't there, as usual. Perhaps you're the one upset, you seem to mention sadness a lot? Let it out, I'm sure it'll be over soon.

I disagree with relying solely on stats, just as I agree they are both good keepers; one in better form than the other. What are the bits you believe are complete bollocks?

That he wears lead boots, that he never moves, that he should have saved the penalty, that he cost us two points on Saturday and my favourite, that tomorrow night he might well be responsible for most goals ever conceded in a Premier League football match.

<laugh> Lead boots are all his, the rest a tad overstated.

I think they are what the football punditry call... 'regulation saves'... its the 'non regulation' saves that Jak has made, even in cup competitions this year that have had the defence run to him and applauding and for me and IMHO opinion, if a secret ballot were taken of the players, Jak would win the vote. As someone has said, there are £5 million reasons Marshall is playing, there should be £120 million or more reasons that he isn't.

Jakupovic is easily our best keeper. People just don't like to back down on things they said.

In the great scheme of things, it doesn't really matter anyway.
