Jakupovic has been better, but changing just the keeper won't make much difference to our performances on its own.
You may be surprised. In our current position all but the most idiotic wouldn't consider it to be worth a try!
But you made out like it matters, if he saves 4 out of 5, he's done well hasn't he? If he saves 1 out of 1, he's done even better.
Yes, of course. But you and another poster were making out it was the performance of the season when he actually made 4 saves in 120 minutes. If they'd been peppering our goal you'd have a point, but the facts seem to suggest that the defence did a thoroughly good job of protecting him. Still, it's not nearly as trendy to go on about the defence as it is to kneel at the altar of Jakupovic.
No i didnt. I didn't say that at all. I said he'd played well and was deserving of a chance. He can't do much more can he? And if he takes us through to the next round after saving two penalties and still can't get in the team, then he should leave for a club that's going to recognise him as a good keeper.
It's amusing to see how supporters have different views on the keeper situation. I think they're both very good keepers and it doesn't really bother me who plays. Phelan can't trust Jak though for whatever reason, otherwise, he would have definitely played him more in the league and one of his first signings wouldn't have been a keeper. Re the Newcastle game, Jak was his usual self, although I didn't think he was exceptional as some as making out. He made a few smart saves, but I'd have expected both keepers to have made them. The Newcastle penalties were very poor and ours were very good. That was the reason we won the shoot-out, not sure I buy that it was keeper heroics
Bruce didn't rate him either, and realistically if Phelan left and we got another manager, he still wouldn't be number 1.
If Marshall plays against Spurs & Man City there will be PL records smashed for highest goals conceded, biggest wins. I'm dreading to think whether Palace & Wet Spam will hit us for a large amount.
Maybe not automatically, immediately, but I feel an incoming manager would assess what he'd got before he brought in his signings/favourites.
The Jak seems to have far better command of his defence than Marshall. In fact he has far better command of every facet of being a better keeper than Marshall at present. The opta stats don't lie.
The Jak definitely seems to be on everyone's backs a bit more. I might be making it up, but I thought one of the team (not sure who) said everyone finds him terrifying? Might be just what we need at the moment?
From what I've seen - streams of games - his back 3/4 seem to trust him more. He shouts at players. He's often very quick and good at feeding a ball back up the pitch, whilst the oppos are still walking away from him.
Possibly! Bournemouth hammered us & they're no great shakes, when you have some of those players at Spurs & Man City, they could murder us if they're on form.
We're over a third of the way through the season and Bournemouth are in the top ten, that suggests they're a decent side.
Oh yes the magical defence. How many goals have we conceded so far this season? How many has Marshall conceded? So when we don't concede it's to do with the defence playing well and when we do concede it's the defence again. You don't seem to think a goal keeper does much during a game. You complain about people praising Jak too much but you refuse to give him any and refuse to blame Marshall for anything.
