We will make more money if we win trophies, but as things stand, and as we've seen, we are still making a lot of money without trophies. And yes, Wenger has been walking a tightrope as the last 2 seasons have shown when we secured our position on the last day of the season, , you lose again. Or no, in your world, 2 seasons on the spin scrapping for top 4 until the last day is actually a team trying to win trophies, right.
How many of these fans who give the thumbs up actually go to games. If you don't go to games the price of pies, pints and programmes isn't going to affect you.
Well Arsenal fan TV is starting to get known by people going to the grounds, this can be the start of something big, as he says, finally a forum that can give fans a voice and a place to air their opinion, something larger than an internet forum.
That didn't answer my question.A couple of seasons ago there was a campaign to put black binbags on the empty seats in the stadium.A Facebook group was setup. The interesting thing was the majority of people who agreed with the campaign lived abroad so empty seats was hardly any concern of theirs
I have come to the conclusion that our problem is there is a distinct lack of sporting ambition at our club, its the business model thats important, and obviously no one wants to see the club in death. But and its a big but,the club now has the means to make itself stronger on the sporting side and for some reason its not happening.
A campaign to boycott buying pies and pints is pointless as Arsenal have contracted out the food and drink concessions to an outside company.Arsenal only take a commission on the profits of any food and drink sold
Of course most people choose to ignore that and would rather blame AFC over something they have no control
I just think that it is a lot more difficult to win than most people think. If it was easy then everyone would do it. The most often said thing is that a club Arsenal's size "should" win trophies, but there never is anything said that really justifies that. I don't think there is an Arsenal fan, or an Arsenal employee that doesn't want to win a trophy, but we are firmly 4th favorite every year to win in all 3 domestic trophies. We definitely don't get to sign the top names. This year we were obviously hoping to get a big name or two, but we found that even with money, it isn't quite so easy. Too many players are gun shy about joining our team and competing for a first team spot against our existing players. I, like the rest of you, have watched the transfer window eagerly hoping for a few signings, but even though I share many fans disappointment in the fact we haven't signed anyone yet, the stuff that is being said about the club is really very silly and pretty immature. Given that there are 3 teams richer than us in England, winning anything is going to be against the odds, no matter what. We are always going to be in a position where the mainstream media consider us underdogs for a title. If you were hoping to reach a point where Arsenal are favorites to win, then I think you are being unrealistic.
Watch this...so articulate, makes you proud to be a gooner https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lq0aSa-WUjo&feature=youtube_gdata_player
The fact that the guy knew he was going to be interviewed in advance takes something away from it. As does the slight sadness of someone being able to string a few sentences together without swearing drawing praise from people. If the level of discourse is usually that low that this is the pinnacle, then ... sadness all round.
Discourse/pinnacle blah blah blah, speaking in public eloquently isn't just words being put together. It's the tone, delivery etc. No ones comparing him to Kenneth Branagh, but its a massive improvement from the average double negative strewn bile that comes out of a lot of football fans. Stop being so sad.
As someone else just said, BLA BLA BLA from you, over 40,000 views, with the clear majority supporting him as you can see.
I looked at it - thought it was rubbish moved on. Again if all you say is totally negative, no one is going to listen. You can't say anything positive, because you don't know enough about running a club or buying players to even know what the issues are. As soon as you start saying anything that isn't anti- or negative or insulting the whole thing ends up sounding like a 5-year old screaming at their parents because they couldn't find the toy they wanted at Christmas. But it's easy to get it, there are loads of them out there, you have the money, I want one now!
How many of the majority of 40,000 ever go to games anyway. It's very easy to boycott something you're never going to do. All my working life the nature of my trade has made the working of overtime mandatory.I have been in the position where I've been involved in industrial action. It's funny how people would always vote for an overtime ban because it never affected them but would never vote for strike action
