Match Day Thread Brighton v Saints - 29/11/24, 8pm

That second half was so encouraging. Brighton are a bloody good team and we matched them stride for stride 2nd half.

 

In fairness, if we had the points we’ve lost through some ropey VAR decisions, we wouldn’t be doing horribly.

 

That's a win in my book. We are good enough to survive. I wouldn't write this team off

 

& Manning, he’s offered a lot more for us going forward of late I feel

 

Might not be the worst thing for Tyler to get a week off now.

 

By a huge distance it was his best performance of the season. He was excellent. But it just goes to show what we're missing by not having a quality left winger. We need performances like that most weeks, not once every four months.

We have just gone head to head, toe to toe with the top 2 in the Premier league .

It's other results that make this disappointing

 

Nothing wrong with the spirit of the team and we are proving more of a threat going forward, if we could cut out the cheap goals conceded things will start to look better.

 

That’s a really good bit of news, didn’t see the match so just got in and feeling encouraged but wondering if our season will be marred more by VAR than anything else overall. Well done Saints!!

I actually thought he spoke quite well and I am not a big fan of his football but the decisions against Wolves, Liverpool and today have not helped things.

Yeah VAR has been the 12th man against us this season...

 

Yeah he was fine. I just think he’s **** and want him gone.

 

Strange from Saints tonight, first half they looked disinterested lacklustre and without any real confidence, almost as if they'd given up the fight. Second half was an all together better performance with a bit of fight ( helped I think in the fact Brighton seemed to play with a lot of pressure upon them to beat the worst team in the league ) so credit to RM where it's due, don't get me wrong I'd still liked to see him replaced with a more pragmatic experienced Premiership quality coach but don't think that's going to happen anyway. We've got an incredibly difficult run of fixtures where I can't see us picking up too many points but as we're almost guaranteed of relegation don't think it matters too much, as long as we are not lumbered with the title of "Worst Premiership team ever" by not beating Derby's record I'll be happy.
Very low expectations indeed........
