I see where you’re coming from with that as Harrison gets LWB role, but doesnt he sometimes drop Phillips back into the 3 CBs and move Struijk forward?
This would be my lineup tomorrow too, I might have Klich on the bench in place of Greenwood in case Joffy took a knock and we needed Rodrigo to move forward. I’m always fearful Forshaw will break down so it gives an option there too I’d love to have a comfortable lead with 20 to go and throw Drameh and Summerville on together knowing they have a bit of an understanding with each other
Sad to see that Vieira isn't doing so well since he left .... http://sportwitness.co.uk/regrets-signing-player-leeds-united-getting-money-back-now-unthinkable/ Regret over signing player from Leeds United – Getting money back now ‘unthinkable’ When Ronaldo Vieira left Leeds United in 2018, there was some disappointment around the club. The youngster was very highly rated, and expected to on to achieve good things. Leeds needed money for their own transfer business, and in that context the move was accepted by fans without much trouble, although the feeling of what-could-have-been was certainly around. Leeds got €7.5m from Sampdoria, and in his first season the midfielder put together 594 Serie A minutes. He was clearly not a major part of the team, but there were no big worries with injuries. The following season was better, with over 1800 minutes in the league, with just a small patella injury at the end of the campaign. Sent on loan to Hellas Verona for the last campaign, the situation was very different and muscle injuries kept the player out of action for much of the season. On his return to Sampdoria, the Genoa club agreed to sell Ronaldo Vieira to Sheffield United, only for that move to collapse after a medical. Calciomercato report the player has been out of action so far this season due to a fracture in his right foot. According to the report, Sampdoria will likely look for another loan, hoping he can regain some value. As it stands, it’s described as ‘unthinkable’ that Sampdoria could get back the €7.5m
I was upset that we didnt move Phillips on and keep Viera. As everyone knows I am vary very rarely wrong when it comes to football. But the know nowt Bielsa seems to have got this one right making me look silly
Anyone else notice who gave away the free kick which resulted in last week's defeat ? Think I've lost count of how many times the player in question has brought players down right on the edge of our box and in a central position.
Actually I think Liam brings leadership and cohesion to the team when he plays and I have no problems with him as captain I just wish he didn't make me think everything is going to go wrong whenever it's a one on one challenge. These invariably occur near our box and towards the middle of the field. If we assume for a moment that we were to select a new captain who else would be able to bring the leadership that the team needs.
The importance of a captain to the team and results is overrated in my opinion. This is borne out by how our results suffer when Kalvin or Raphinha are missing and no amount of rallying from a player wearing an armband would change that.
