Best pub in Brighton, though it only holds about three people is: Come out of the station, turn right to walk up the hill alongside the railway tracks and it's right there in front of you. Otherwise there are some half decent pubs on the main drag straight opposite the station on the right hand side beyond the buses or head left and downhill into the Lanes area and there are some good pubs with half decent ales. For gentlemen of a certain persuasion then there's always the Queen's Head (the inn sign may well still be of Freddie Mercury in a wonderful double pun) where it is Happy Hour all day long and the beer is actually very fine. Prudes nor intolerants need not enter but is an excellent pub. If you need to get to Falmer on the train don't wander too far from the station as that hill back is a bugger after a skinload of ales.
