Dervite had a good game - does anyone know why he was starting though over Cort? Bit harsh on Leon!

I wouldn't say there wingers owned us I'd say Hoskins got little change and he's rated by his manager in the zaha class.
Solly looked very comfortable at left back yesterday I don't think he'll be with us after this season he's destined for the prem sooner rather than later.

I blame Hamers positioning for both goals... neither of which had any pace on them when they went past him :(

I've just seen the highlights - how can you say the first goal had no pace on it?! It fair old zipped past him, I don't think any keeper would have saved that. That's the finishing that Mackail-Smith gives you.

I guess the Good Doctor thought that Morrow/Dervite had more mobility against a ball playing forward line than Morrow/Cort <ok> Let's face it ... Cort's strength is in the air.

To me it was his way of showing that Dervite had earned a spot, taking every chance he's had with aplomb. Was superb.

I am sure you are both right. Plus it wouldn't hurt to give Cort a day off with the holiday program coming up. He is not the youngest and he get's involved in more physical stuff than anyone except perhaps Hulse.

I would hope that in a situation of one on one that the forward would either have to tuck the ball into a corner or blast it past the keeper......CMS did neither... he passed it past Hamer closer to the centre of the goal than the corner.

The original mistake was, I'm afraid, Morro's. The best one-one -one finisher I know was BWP's dad, and he often hit it hard and low quite near the goalie, but the goalies just couldn't get down quick enough. Just watched the replay, and the first goal looks as though it was a couple of feet inside Hamer's left post. The second took a horrible deflection which left Hamer helpless,

Just seen the goals myself. Not going to be too critical of hamer, but thought he was too central on the first.

Some of Hamer's saves were out of this world. We are lucky to have a goalkeeper as good as him.

I have really taken to the guy over the last couple of months.

Me too it seems some just dont like him so blame him when he's not at fault and when he does make the odd error and he makes less than most they crucify him.
Hamer is the best keeper we've had for along time better than Randolph and Elliott much as I love ronnie

I put my hands up to not really liking him. His reaction to green compared to Morrison after both made mistakes tells me all I need to know (and thought).

Good keeper- think much improved on last season. But you can't deny he is a bit suspect. Was he not too central on CMS's goal?

Maybe he read your comments and decided to stop overreacting when defenders make mistakes.

Or he agrees with AHLL and he thinks he should have saved it.

Or he understands that Morrison is very important to our very good defensive record, and knows that Morrison will be hardest on himself, so main priority is to lift spirit.

At the game, I thought Hamer's positioning was woeful for the first goal (though on the highlights it didn't look as bad). No keeper could anticipate the deflection for the second.

I'm with Super in that I don't really like Hamer as a person, though I don't agree in regards to his reaction to Morrison's mistake. The two always seem to have had a pretty conflicting relationship on the field (after the pre-match cuddles which Hamer hands out), but I feel his calm reaction to the mistake for the first goal, was simply because Morrison screamed out in frustration and straight away apologised to Hamer. If he hadn't done so I think Hamer would have bit his head off.

Anyone else noticed that Hamer seems to just scream at whoever takes his fancy when the oppo miss a chance? Frimpong seem's to have replaced Green as his key target in recent games.

Didn't anybody else notice when Brighton took a short corner after about 15 mins that their no. 3 missed at the back post that Hamer ran up to either Pritchard or Frimpong (and when I say ran up to I meant about 6" face to face) and told them in rather agricultural language what he thought of their positioning!

Like that helped!
