I bet westy is waking up with a sore head this morning, let's hope he didn't get too pissed and is not waking up with a sore arse! Pmsl
To those that went, it sounded to me like Chambers was struggling again, especially first half, thoughts?

Westy is very quiet indeed! He must have had a terrific night out in Brighton....pubs I mean!

A long journey for him, superbly rewarded.

We are in a strong place.....fresh players coming in, good rotation, Mick showing more creativity...dare we say it, even threw on attacking players at the end! And, hey, we pressed them at the nerve jangling finish and got 2 corners. How different from 6 weeks ago.

Funny old game. Team flowing with confidence, not sure we need anyone...maybe another defender of top quality. Delighted for Murph, Bru....one day his 20 yard scorchers will rip the net, and Hyam too appeared to settle well. Freddie continues to amaze.
McG, not bothered. perhaps a quick dazzling, dancing cameo performance in April when/if fit. Otherwise, move him on.

If we nick a point at Burnley, maybe all 3, I wouldnt be surprised.

Wishing you all a Happy, Healthy, Peaceful and cracking New Year!

Oh jesus yesterday was one bloody mess.

I rarely drink these days, and with how I feel today, I can see why! Turn 30 in Jan.... meh! Still, polished off over 10 pints and a bottle of wine! Lovely stuff. Got back to the hotel at 3 then couldn't get in it for an hour due to someone apparently having been killed ! Absolute mayhem.

Before I discuss my thoughts on the actual game, in some depth, I'd like to congratulate Brighton on getting footy right. £25 a ticket, with train travel included was superb and numerous bars open after the game for an age. Fans mixing, very nice atmosphere. Mentioned " banner gate " to several who laughed it off. Nice stadium too. Decent noise from their fans also.

The game - well I'd need to see highlights back. Both sides hit frame of the goal twice from memory.

I wasn't a massive fan second half of us sitting, did think " they're going to score at some point " for a good 20 minutes but we defended so damn well - and as a team!

Gerken really is making the position his own.
Knudsen - best performance by a mile in a town shirt. Very good. Play like that each week and people will be happy!
    Berra back to his best.
Smith had a good 90 - even passed the ball once on the floor with wrong foot!
Chambers - weak link regarding defence - but not a massively weak link if that makes sense? Did what he had to well generally, bar once allowing striker to cut inside and shoot.
Dougy and Skuse decent - clearly told to sit, but got on with task quite well. We needed more ball,,,,,
Fraser and Sears first 30 on the break together, absolutely devastating. Rapid and appearing to have product! Fantastic.
Bru - not a game for him, Hyam better when he came on. Bru needs ball to feet and us to have the ball more. Good to see Hyam back
    Murphy his usual decent self.

Not a great deal else to say - 5 wins on the spin on the road, best run since 1971!!! We're now 4 points off Hull in 3rd, and 4 ahead of Wendy so a little cushion ahead of Burnley - which I think we'll lose. They've had an extra days rest, and would have been 70% cruise control 2nd half vs Bristol City. We put absolutely everything into last night. I just think fatigue favours Burnley massively for this fixture, but then in my opinion we'll be back :)

For anyone who hasn't seen the Chambers fist pump yet - you have to. Absolute scenes.
