On the same day we sign Wayne Bridge we get confirmation of the departure of Alex Pearce. Mixed emotions for me. We sign a decent player, then allow one of our existing best players to leave the club.

as it's the start of the Adkins reign in seriousness now, I think we might for once expect a flurry of transfer material, with finally a good number of players going and several medium-big faces coming in ... when we came up from the championship last time we had nearly 50 pros on the books at one point - I don't think well be anywhere near that this coming season

Its quality not quantity that counts. My fear is that we could lose more of our better players. HRK and Le Fondre are two I'm watching very closely.

Adkins obviously wants to build his own team, I just hope each new signing doesn't mean one of our better players being shown the door.

Time will tell I suppose.
