Brian's Predictions League 2023/24

League Table
​
After a glorious start for the Horns our first league table of the season looks like this. Fez is our first leader after a score of 88, followed narrowly by Yorkie with Seb settling in on third. Last years champion theghost has also started well. A difficult week to predict with no form to go on and the most points here came from the games at Norwich, Blackburn and Leicester. I dutifully waited for the end of the Leeds match, but it made no difference, being the only game which nobody scored on. A hearty welcome to all posters for this seasons competition.​

Back to normal fair for the Hornets this week which few of us predicted after last week. Once again a hard round to predict with QPR bouncing back at Cardiff, Leeds Utd underperforming, and Ipswich proving a real force to be reckoned with. The latter of which had a great influence on our table this week with Paul actually placing his joker in a 2-0 win for Ipswich and getting the unique scoreline bonus as well. Paul thus got the weeks highest score of 99 with Mrs Andy and Mark doing well with scores in the 60s. Elsewhere it was a record low scoring round for most of us. ​

This must have something to do with the Womens World Cup or something ! It looks like a conspiracy but we now have the two merry wives of Watford at the top in first and second place <cheers> Fez and Andy will have to grin and bare this for at least a week. In a week of massive changes to the table, and some quite high scoring, Paul decided to take a break and let the others catch up which they dutifully did. Mrs Fez got the week's highest score of 121 taking her to the top and Mrs Andy got the second highest of 102 to move into second. Mark and Fez share 3rd. Next highest of the day was by Scullion with 100.

Another depressing weekend for the Horns where possession was negated completely by what actually happens in the penalty areas. On here it was all change with most of us changing places, either up or down. Congratulations to Paul for breaking that trend and actually preserving his place from last week. Elsewhere Fez did the ungentlemanly act of knocking his wife off the top ! With Scully also doing well, and also topping the hundred mark to move into second. Highest riser of the day was Seb, moving from 14th up to 3rd with the highest score of the round (121). With only a hundred points separating 1st from 14th place everything can change very quickly at this early stage of the season. ​

​
A round to forget as far as tipping was concerned. with a row of unpredictable results such as Leicester and Norwich both losing and West Brom going down at home it was all very difficult to pick up points this week. In the end only 3 of us topped the 60 mark - NZHorn, Charlie and Mrs Andy. Elsewhere it was a record week of low scoring. Scully has moved into top spot with Fez second and Mrs Andy third.​
