A glorious weekend for the Horns, which none of us tipped correctly. We now have a clear leader and Andy can hold onto the bragging rights in his family - but carefull ! Mrs Andy has emerged as a major contender and so the situation could be interesting in the Andy household. Highest score of the round was by Mark who has jumped into seventh as a result.- still close with only about 50 points separating the first 10 places. Bumper scores of 100+ can still change the whole complexion of things - this is what I keep telling myself though it refuses to happen in my case

Once again it's all change at the top as the rounds' highest score of 141 forces Mustyfrog into first place with a bit of breathing space. The senond highest of the day was by Scully with 119 which places him in second. Andy's family all forgot an Matej didn't remind them so he now moves to the top of the family duel. Altogether 4 scores in the hundreds this week, including Matej and Chris. A high scoring week which was partly explained by the Horns winning (though nobody got the scoreline exactly), but also by relatively low scoring (only one team got 3 goals) and no real surprises.

Mrs Andy and I found it all too much ‘heading up’ the league, so decided to give you all a chance to catch up. We wish to quell any rumours put about by Rankin Major and Rankin Minor, that we were Brahms on cocktails in a London hotel.

A dissapointing weekend for the Horns and a very low scoring round on here with few of us getting any scorelines exactly right, though there were some exceptions. Some very surprising results around with the leaders conceding 4 in the second half, the Horns and QPR both losing at home and Swansea also dropping points at home - all very hard to predict. Nonetheless smeone had to make hay and it was theghost with, by far, the highest score of 104, this moved him up 9 places into third. Elsewhere, scores above 50 were few and far between. Mustyfrog extended his lead at the top, Scully is still locked in second.

Very difficult to know which version of the Hornets is going to turn up for matches these days which is making our job on here very difficult. Highest score of the day was by Hackney with a round 100 which moves him up to third. Second highest was my own score of 97 by view of a lucky joker. Our leader at the break is Mustyfrog with a 60 point lead over theghost in second. We now have a break for the World Cup and that obviously could mean a change of luck afterwards - and it's all still fairly open. I hope that there is sufficient interest in the World Cup to shift attentions to the predictions league for that (looking a bit thin on there at the moment) for the enforced interim period.

A somewhat drab restart for the Hornets, which may have been predictable, but none of us actually did predict 0-0. Highest score of the round was by Mrs Andy and the second highest was by Paul. Mustyfrog still leads but there is a rattle of chains just behind him as theghost cut the lead down to only 17 points. For many of us it was difficult getting back to league action - particularly when the World Cup is still going on. When I started the other league I wasn't aware that our two leagues would be running simultaneously for a time and some posters may not have been on the ball as far as the restart here was concerned. When it comes to late posting ie. posting of tips for matches which have either already started, or which have finished, I have accepted this under some circumstances but don't like doing it - nor do I like rejecting tips, so I'd ask posters not to place me in that position. All still very close with nobody really pulling away from the field and only a hundred points separating the top 10, so everything to play for.
