After the shortest of short breaks we are here again with another season of grappling with teams who don't do as we want them to. For this season we are no longer grappling with the Liverpool's and the Man City's of this World but with Stoke City, Millwall etc. Unfortunately Mark Lawrenson will not be with us for this season as he will be predicting a completely different set of fixtures - he will be joining us for the FA Cup predictions. This means that we need at least one new poster to keep our league above 20 posters - more would be even more welcome. Our scoring system remains the same as last year:

For tipping the correct result with the wrong scoreline eg. 1-0 against 3-0 you get 3 points for home wins.
For doing the same as above for away wins 5 points.
For tipping draws eg. 0-0 against 2-2 you get 9 points
For tipping the right result and right score difference eg. 1-0 against 2-1 you get 5 bonus points (that is already included in the total for draws but means 10 points for an away win and 8 points for one at home.
The completely correct scoreline eg. 2-1 against 2-1 scores 25 points.
Whatever you get on the Watford fixture is doubled.
You have a floating joker which should be placed on any other fixture (apart from Watford) in which case what you score on that fixture is doubled - you are allowed one joker per week.
Repetition of the same scoreline is limited to 4 - eg. if you tip 5 1-0 home wins then the last would be discounted.
There is a bonus of 50 points for scoring on all 10 fixtures in the same round (this hasn't happened yet).
You get an automatic 10 points for remembering to tip.
If anyone doesn't understand all this then just tip what you think will happen and leave the work to me

We need new posters to keep the league alive and flourishing.
Matej is the current champion and the one to beat. The first round of fixtures will appear shortly.​

 

Thanks for doing this - I hope to improve on 17th. However, I do think that anyone tipping WFC to lose and getting it right should have their points subtracted!!

 

I should add that because there are 22 teams in the league this year and we only do 10 fixtures per round, that one Championship fixture per week will be absent. The Horns will always be there and I will try to vary the missing match so that we get to tip on all teams.

 

Here are the matches for our first round which commences on Friday the 11th of September with the Horns at home to Middlesboro. I will give out several reminders so that late tippers are not disadvantaged by this.
