Well no surprise in today's news! The courts in Scotland at the highest level has deemed Boris suspending parliament as unlawful. Of course they think this as they want independence as much as the SNP! Wonder how much they been paid by the SNP? :emoticon-0112-wonde

The government said they will appeal and should be heard next week Tuesday. Obviously the SNP, Labour and Lib Dems, along with the Tory rebels, want the government back at the house of commons immediately today. But suspension can continue until the decision is made at the highest level in the UK courts - the supreme court!

    Whatever next! <doh>

The real reason parliament wants the suspension stopped immediately and everyone to return to parliament today is because when the decision on the appeal is made, the Tories will be at their party conference so parliament wont be able to return then either, if the supreme court agrees with the Scottish courts.

In an unbiased response to you.....

Where is the proof of him lying? Isn't this all just MP's opinions on what was Boris's intentions? And depending if these MP's want Leave or remain, will determine what these MP's opinions are on his intentions. If they was remain, Boris lied, If they was leave, Boris didn't lie. Proof is needed and it will be pretty damn hard to prove he actually lied. Everyone on both sides are putting 2 and 2 together and getting whatever answer they want. Supreme court can only back Boris, unless there is proof. If there is proof then fair enough. But I cant see how they will find proof.

CORBYN’S NEW ‘PLOT’ TO INVOLVE BLOCKING QUEEN SPEECH AS HE TAKES AIM AT JOHNSON

please log in to view this image

ACCORDING TO A REPORT IN THE EXPRESS AND TELEGRAPH, THE QUEEN IS SET TO BE DRAGGED INTO THE FOREFRONT OF LABOUR AND THE SNP’S LATEST ‘PLOT’ TO BRING DOWN BORIS AND THE GOVERNMENT.
The Queen and MPs will return to parliament on the 14th of October for the Queen’s speech.

MPs were sent home last night and parliament suspended for 5 weeks ahead of the Queen’s speech which is set to be the first in two years and will plan the government legislative agenda.

Boris Johnson has always argued that proroguing parliament was not to stop MPs debating Brexit but to instead move the country forward and implement new policies and budgets.

However, according to the Telegraph, opposition MPs, which reportedly include Mr Corbyn are plotting to involve the Queen to bring down Boris Johnson’s government.

A week after the Queen’s speech, MPs will vote on whether to approve or reject it on the 21st of October. It has only ever been voted down three times – in 1886, 1892 and 1923.

If successful and they block the Queen’s speech, which his written by the government, they will then table a motion of no-confidence against the Prime Minister on the 23rd October, which could result in a general election.

The government will be able to schedule when this election will be. Earlier this month, opposition MPs rejected the governments call for an election to take place on the 15th of October.

The Express reported: “Labour and SNP ‘plot’ to block the Queen – royal faces new Brexit fallout. But now opposition parties are planning on banding together once more to vote down Boris Johnson’s plans, leaving the Queen to deal with more fallout from the ongoing crisis.

“The Telegraph reported party insiders claiming it is also likely Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn will table a motion of no confidence in the Prime Minister On October 22, if he is successful in voting down the speech the day before.”

Opposition parties met today to discuss how they can bring down the government and Liberal Democrat sources confirmed that a no-confidence vote late in October was one option.

Before the Fixed Terms Parliament Act, voting down a Queen’s speech was a way of showing no-confidence in the government.

It’s reported that Labour believes that defeating the Queen’s speech would push Conservative rebels over the edge and help bring down the government. Boris removed 21 MPs from the party after they backed the oppositions bill to delay Brexit to block a no-deal.

And every single one of them will have to answer to their constituents at the next election. Some will be ok as their constituency may have had the majority for remain. But the others, which is the majority of those 328 MP's, have leave majority constituency. I hope these get punished for going against their constituents.

The appeal to the Supreme Court is likely to be heard on 17th September and coud take some days to hear the submissions.

The Lib Dems annual conference starts on the 16th September, the Labour's on the 23rd September and the Tory's on the 29th September.

Just wonder if the Supreme Court does rule against prorogation, would Parliament be able to reform before the end of that lot anyway?

Exactly. That is why the suspension was going to be for so long as it covers the period where all party conferences were taking place. In reality, the suspension was for something like 4 parliamentary days anyway due to all the party conferences taking place. As a result, its pretty embarrassing from those causing this fiasco who is against the suspension.

Having some free time at the moment, I've been watching quite a bit of parliamentary debate, including PMQs and the debates on the various bills. I must admit to quite liking Bercow. Quite amusing and no respecter of reputation. This has become heightened since he said he'd stand down. Monday night was most amusing.

Yet more confusion from Labour today.

Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn yesterday at the TUC conference said if he wins a General election, he will get a good deal from the EU and then do another referendum with that deal vs remain to choose from.

Labour deputy Tom Watson today at the TUC conference said there is no such thing as a good Brexit deal and Labour should prioritise reversing Brexit by another referendum instead of going for power with a General election.

They seem to be on the same page don't they <laugh>

I heard Bercow had a big accident at home. He was trying to re-wire a plug and apparently he had no idea what neutral was! ;)
