For me I want Leadsom who would be a strong no nonsense leader. But I also like what McVey is coming out with. These are my favourites for the job.

Not a hope in hell of the Lib Dems getting in.

If a election was held tomorrow Brexit party would storm it,

Have a 1950's tvo t 20 a 60's MF 35 . BOTH WORKING... a 2014 JD6125R .. goes out on contract, and a near year old JD 5100M ...also on contract don't actually make a profit on the contracts [ tax deductible ] but occasionally will do a days work or 2 ..silage hauling etc fantastic fun …. Spend about 8 weeks in Scotland …. cousin has over 2000 Black face and 30 highland cattle … appreciates the help when I call in for a day or maybe 2 to help with lambing [ start of May]. In the NW fishing is amazing there are a couple of lochan's in the mountains near Assynt where in a couple hours you can catch maybe 40 or so pounders in a couple of hours also a couple lochs where a bit slower just 2 or 3 but anything from about a pound to 3-4 lb my biggest is 2.5lb biggest salmon was in the 60's [ world cup time] of 14lb on the Tay A few sea marks yield Bass to 6lb and Pollack to 8lb ……

I had a /have a working life of 62 years my 3 longest job spans were 14 years 10 years and 9 years ...had 5 redundancies also basically was into about 6 different categories of job each job or career I sat down and thought what would I like to do next …. shortest job was just under 3 years … I do have a lot of will power .. stopped smoking on the trot in late 70' at PORTH YR OGOF at 6.15pm on a Saturday night in mid October … used to gamble lost a lot won a lot then had the will power to stop daily and just bet on 2 races a year national and derby after red rum's successes … next bets were a few years later when gingers son took over and I HAD £18,000 of winnings on THE NATIONAL/ DERBY and one year a double … since have just played a few times on the football results … last season hardly anything...…… I luckily invested in some good "things" and have a reasonable knowledge of accountancy and tax etc sometimes a good investment is not obvious … spent a fortune on HGV vehicles 60 of them and they are still in the ATTIC AND WARDROBE! … Corgi models ...lol probably my last 2 investments are real losers …. and come next year will likely get rid of as at the moment they don't pay their way …
so there you go ….live life to the full … have and not want rather than not have and want and DILIGENTIA ET LABORE is my motto's ……

    Not a chance.

They took a few percent more of the vote than UKIP did last time, who had a grand total of zero seats.

I'm not saying the Brexit Party wouldn't have an impact. But they'd get a few seats at most.

It has turned a bit RR and I'm not shooting down the Brexit Party, but the 'smaller' parties always do better in the European Elections. The Greens and Lib Dems will not do anywhere near as well in a General Election as they did in the Europeans, and the same applies for Brexit Party.

It's just the way it works. In 2014 UKIP got 26.6% of the vote but then in the following GE they got just 12.6%. Voters always swing back to the main parties in a GE.

But they have not had two complete and utter knobs in May and Corbyn at the helm.

No they had Cameron and Miliband.

Honestly, Brexit Party will win some seats in a GE. But there's no way they will reach Labour/Tory numbers. Just like Greens won't and just like (in all likeliness) the Lib Dem's won't.

Still don't understand the sentence construct. Will answer the question if you can clarify it.

Irresponsible buyers or irresponsible lenders. Witnessed plenty of the latter, especially before the demise of the subprime market.
I remember paying up to 15% on my mortgage repayments in the early 90s. How would people cope if those days return.
Fortunately my payments were over by my mid 30s.

    As for farming , it's a hobby.
Business change consultancy pays the bills working 6 months of the year (ish).
A few horses, 20 or 30 cows, a couple hundred sheep and 10 or 12 acres for hay keep us occupied. That and a few construction projects.

For what it’s worth I think RR has a point. The whole Brexit thing has changed people’s voting habits.
If the Brexit party could come up with a few policies then who knows - at the moment they are campaigning on a single issue and we have no idea how they would deal with education, health, defence or foreign policy.
Lib Dem’s however are VERY clear - they are unashamedly anti-Brexit and would deliver Remain. They also have policies on all the areas that I mentioned earlier.
The Tories are in civil war and are frankly unelectable under May. Labour is in much the same state - they are getting away with it for now because they are not in power and the focus is on the conservatives and their self-harming.
It really depends on who the Tories choose as their new leader, but the Remain voters will vote Lib Dem - that’s 48% of everyone who voted Remain in the referendum.
A strong Tory leader may possibly attract the traditional Tory voters back, but they will split the Leave vote, as they would attract voters away from Farage again.
I’ve said it before, but it’s interesting times......

I have to agree with Rob here. European elections are used more in a protest vote towards the main parties. For general elections, people are often more loyal to their parties that they always have voted for previously. Plus, these Euro elections would have given a kick in the backside to the bigger parties and they will try and appease to the Brexit party voters by having things in their manifesto that will try and take Brexit party voters. I think Brexit party will do very well and will now have loyal voters themselves but I can't see them getting past either Tories, Labour or Lib Dems unfortunately.

It certainly has mate but not enough.

The Brexit Party had 19% more votes than UKIP did in the 2014 European elections. UKIP won zero seats in the next general election. It would take far, far more than a 19% uplift in votes for the Brexit Party to even get 10 seats, let alone be contending with Labour and the Tories.

True Rob, but back then the electorate weren’t so disillusioned with the main parties. Neither May nor Corbyn are electable. I know May is going, but her replacement will have a huge (impossible) task of healing the party.
The past trends have shown that the Lib Dem’s pick up votes from disillusioned Tory and Labour voters alike, but this time, unless the new Tory leader can achieve Brexit, Brexit will be the battleground and the electorate will choose accordingly.
Neither Labour nor the Conservatives are united on Brexit, so the people will vote for a party that is.
    My thoughts only of course!

It will be interesting next Thursday, Peterborough are having a bi-election and the Brexit party are putting up a candidate, no manifesto, just 1 main issue, I understand Farage is making a support visit, Conservative, Labour and Liberal Democrats are flooding the area with their supestars and panicking, it will be interesting to see the outcome.

It is at present held by Labour.

I completely agree with you mate, all of your reasons are accurate. I'm just not convinced it will add up in a GE.

Like you said, all of that disillusionment, etc and it only resulted in a 19% uplift in votes for Brexiteers just days ago. It's not as if it was months or years ago that the vote happened.

Regardless, they'll definitely do better than UKIP did last time around that's for certain.

Sorry RR, there’s more chance Lib Dem’s getting in than the Brexit Party .

In the Euro vote most seats they took UKIPS vote and a few percent on top only. In a GE They’d be lucky to get a few seats at most.
