I think the deal was the likeliest outcome and probably the best both sides can hope for, but the Europeans appear to be more frustrated by the conclusion than the British side. Which Boris will of course take as a victory. The biggest change being that the Europeans were the more content with May's deal, than the British were, on a political level it is a victory for Johnson.

I've felt, living here as opposed to the UK, that a big fear for the EU was having a second major competitor with a chip on its shoulder alongside Russia, one to its East and the new one to it's West. The best solution for them was simply concluding talks with the UK in a positive manner.

The pro-EU papers are absolutely fizzing, talking about European history and how **** the UK is in every single aspect from the date of 1066 onwards, so on that basis the UK obviously won.

You're simply not reading things you disagree with.

A prime example of everything I'm talking about, here are Norways two leading parties talking about this very subject.

In short, the Brexit deal signed by the UK has better terms than EEA members receive.

We have irreparably damaged the EUs reputation amongst doubting members.

agree here.

Southerner struggled to see beyond his anti Tory blinkers mate.

that article about Norway really peaked my interest as it transcends Uk politics and is a third party view of the type of deal struck.

Also worthy of note is the fact that there has been just a small fraction of the usual criticism of Boris here as there simply isn’t much to criticise. Apart from remoaners just having a general cry yet again about the whole Brexit movement.

Marit Arnstad and her Center Parry are fervently anti-E.U. They're always looking for an angle to attack the E.U and this is a peacock's tail of a headine.

The Brexit deal has irreparably damaged the EUs reputation with doubting members.

By the way, the British Brexit deal does have far better terms than what EEA members receive, especially Norway. Their EEA membership sucks.

That's very good news, I specifically changed my British licence to a Norwegian one for that reason.
