I'm sure people had reasons to vote. Some of them would have been genuine. But many of the voters I imagine were led by what they were told by both sides by campaigns that contained an awful lot of bullshit. So instead of doing the reasonable thing and researching both arguments they went along with whatever suited them personally. It's nothing to do with condascention and I resent you calling me out on that for simply stating my views on the matter.

From a social point of view, the people who went through uni, were educated and put thought into their vote mostly chose to remain. The forklift drivers, builders and unemployed people chose to leave, citing things such as "bloody immigrants", "taking our country back" and "£350 million a week back into our economy". Not an accurate cross section of voters by any means, but have a look at your own social media using the same criteria and see if it matches up.

So these people in low skilled jobs are the ones that I think the campaigns were targeted at, people who have an over reliance on the media because they won't look things up for themselves out of fear or laziness. All it takes is one outlet to be labelled a "danger to society" and whichever campaign backs that will get the vote. It's a cowardly and derisive strategy that prayed on a lot of weak willed people. It's exactly what Donald Trump is doing in America right now.

Speaking of Trump, he welcomed our decision to leave the EU with open arms. So it must've been a good idea. That's some endorsement that is.

It goes against your simplistic view about who voted for which side but quite amazing that farmers who get loads of money in EU subsidies were 60% in favour of a brexit according to a poll in the UK's largest farming publication.

I'm not much of a golfer, but looking at the flags in the background, I reckon I could hit the green on each of the first three holes in one shot. It looks a lot bigger on TV.

I'm not much of a golfer either, but if they put hair around them holes . . .

It was a victory for stupidity over common sense, in my opinion, swung by a campaign aimed at people who didn't really know the consequences of what they were voting for and instead we're just told it was bad and we needed to leave.

Not that some well respected financial advisors, world leaders and scientists told us it was a good idea to remain. No, let's listen to Baz off the estate who hates Muslims and has an English flag tattooed on his arm, clearly he's more qualified to offer advice on an important decision.

I hope there's another referendum in 4 years time when the country has gone to **** and those that voted to leave want back in. And I hope the EU tell us to go **** ourselves.
The bad news is, that in 4 years time the EU would have commenced operation implode.. UK whilst being the first will almost certainly not be the last, we simply made lesser countries realise that there is life outside it. We took a significant amount of revenue out of the EU today and other member states with a lower performing economy will not be enjoying having to make up the short fall.. Whats done has been a democratic vote for whatever reasons people choices you have no right to castigate anyones reasoning. What has been appalling today is the manner in which rich boys and girls in London and seemingly on here have not taken the defeat like adults. Instead they bleated as if it was their divine right to have won the vote. I think had the roles been reversed those in the exit camp would have just got on with it, something that everyone in this country should do now.

Thats a ****ing ****ty thing to say. I'm both of those people, educated and went through Uni and also an ex labourer not even a tradesman. Andi tell you what the uneducated labourers i used to share a lobby with 20 years ago were just as thoughtful and intelligent on the whole as the people i share an office with now.
Who the **** is Andi? Sounds like a drag queen.

Gaylord.

I voted out. I'm also educated. And senior management. And well paid. And friends and family with all sorts of people of different origin. I've also in the past worked in kitchens, gardens and have worked ****ing hard to get where I am today.

I didn't vote based on immigration. Yes it was a factor, I want control back over who we can let in and who we can kick the **** out. It's also about the faceless, unelected, unaccountable Eurocrats, who dictate more to our lives than the Remainers would like to acknowledge. 4 presidents they have. 4 ffs. I'd hazard a guess that even our intellectually superior Sterling can tell us who they are without googling them.

It was a good idea at the start, with the best of intentions. It's been twisted and deformed into a horrible monster now that wanted to consume the whole of Europe, stripping nations of their right to self determination.

We've, once again, shown the world how to do the right thing. We've stopped this behemoth in it's tracks, other nations will now follow us and retrieve their dignity and the right to look after their own people.

I just wish the Remainers could show a little dignity and appreciation of what democracy actually means.

Well said Happy, i won't hold my breath, but lets hope that this result will prompt the rest of Europe to reconsider what the EU is all about and take it back to what it originally was. And that is a group of countries that trade freely and co-operate closely with one another but without the Superstate ambitions of the Brussels elite!

I work with a black kid from Nigeria. smashing kid, we take the piss out of each other constantly.
He comes in today, so i say, you still here then?
The two women in the office, mid thirties shriek, you cant say that.
Completely missing the joke as these super sensitive ****s do. Me and my mate are pissing ourself.

Some unbelievable responses on this.

Meaningless waffle. <laugh>

Correcting grammar again, the internet's way of pointing out a person with nothing left to contribute.

Meanwhile up in Scotland where everyone is well educated and lots went to uni, you can't find a bricky or plumber for love or money.

Sterling , apologies if I've misunderstood your point but you seem to be saying those who went to uni etc are intelligent and thought deeply about their vote whilst forklift truck drivers, builders , unemployed are thick and easily swayed by the propaganda. Ending up being a blue collar worker can be down to personal choice and doesn't reflect intelligence. Just as going through uni and coming out with £40k of debt aint too clever either.
