Thats where my dads Scottish half comes from and my last name. Im Scottish-German which is a common combo in the US.

I dont care who knows it. Its sounds really American to us, most of our last names are Scottish, Irish, German etc.
Yea he is German and they changed their name. Also really common as pretty much everyones last name was changed when they came here.

North-east, so yeah, pretty much. The part of Northern Ireland closest to the western coast of Scotland is where Ulster unionists predominate.
They are talking about Scotland being different to the rest of the UK it seems that London is as well.
