Hilarious to hear that Scotland, despite having the biggest per head expenditure of the 4 home nations, now have a £3.5bn black hole in their finances and are having to go cap in hand to Westminster to beg for yet more money.
This is despite Herr Sturgeon wanting to leave the union and fend for themselves and the fact they have been employing very expensive lawyers to try and force the British government into giving them another referendum just 8 years after the 'once in a generation' vote.
Yet their health care, education, social housing and drug deaths are some of the worst in Europe.

They couldn't manage their way out of a paper bag.

I think she’s hoping the EU will give them even more money than Westminster does.

The EU will not accept Scotland even if they get Indy Ref2 and leave the UK.

Their GDP isn't big enough, and the likes of Spain will boycott any attempt for Scotland to join because it could lead to renewed efforts by Catalonia, the Balearics, the Basques and the Canary Islands to be independent.

Sturgeon and her henchmen simply haven't thought it through properly, and the Scottish people continue to pay the price in wasted millions from their so called government, and p1ss poor services.

Absolutely agree - but they are getting what they continuously vote for - so they deserve it - and it's also the rest of the UK which is picking up much of their bill....

Plus if we think separating the UK from the EU is complicated that’s nothing to the difficulties separating Scotland from the UK will cause, especially if Scotland wants to join the EU, the currency, & the Border are just two massive issues that springs to mind.

currency wise it will be 2 separate ones .. the Scottish S£ and the UK£ DAY 1 will be par within a year supermarkets like Tesco Sainsbury Morrisons will start to have a exchange rate mechanism built in alongside the euro one! take a tin of Heinz beans day one N & S of the border cost S£1.00 ... UK£1.00 after a while will cost UK£1.05p ... S£1.10p ......
    then start to spend money abroad USD / Euro .... day one S£1 = 1.45USD ..UK£1 = 1.45USD after a while S£1 - 1.25USD ... UK£1 = 1.43 USD etc etc etc .gov Scotland borrowing will be more expensive ...
out of EU border will be similar to now... but get a big difference in tax's and currency and to stop cross border smuggling a line will need to be drawn!

newsflash Scotland gets independence and local north England stone wall builders awarded contract to rebuild Hadrians wall ................ :emoticon-0140-rofl::emoticon-0140-rofl::emoticon-0140-rofl:

Scotland may eventually leave the UK, although it's heartening to hear Liz Truss say no to Indy Ref2 anytime soon, but they may have to operate as a 'Switzerland' as I've already pointed out, the EU won't allow them in on their own.
Scotland would do well to remember that the Channel Tunnel is in England, and so the only way to get goods in or out of Scotland without them being charged a ridiculous amount by us (I would anyway!) would be by air or sea. Or by a hard road border as John says in the rough area of Hadrians Wall

I believe Switzerland is by choice, they depend heavily on Banking and as a EU member would need to follow EU rules ...

interesting aspect ... you do see Scotland 40 footers on the train and ferry but not a lot [ going either way ] they tend to use ports further North although if travelling south route on reaching France to SPAIN / PORTUGAL it would be A TIME TO WORK OUT COST of driving down through England to DOVER as opposed to more expensive crossing further north but cheaper fuel on reaching France .... trucks tend to leave Dover with about enough fuel for 50 -100miles and return topped up with around 90% tank full.
the more expensive sailing routes south utilise longer sailings where drivers have a cab and get 24 hour break and rest!

I'm happy if Scotland and Wales want to have a vote.
I also wish we could have a Independence vote.
We had one for Brexit so don't see why we all can't choose our path forward.
