It's a combination of things, but it isn't healthy. I get he's be feeling defensive, but this is a new level. It doesn't feel tenable. Whole things is sad.
Part of me wants Jones sacked before I have to go to work tomorrow morning, the other part is curious to see a Jones v Wright media feud play out in his next press conference.
Having scoured Twitter, the BBC, and this board on getting up this morning to find some good news, I can only conclude that the Saints directors are having a late breakfast before they do what needs to be done. Today, please guys. I’ve had enough.
This is what relegation feels like, it's not immediate but you know it's inevitable. Seventeen games still to go and each one as hopeless and miserable as the last, death by a thousand cuts.
Wasn’t expecting anything yesterday. Every game I just hope for a reasonable performance from the team, to be better than the last defeat. Other people on here have different expectations, and are far more knowledgable about football than me. All I see is a beaten team starting the game, before a ball is kicked. Nathan Jones has inherited a dysfunctional squad, not PL standard for a few years now. He has made things worse by strange formations and strange positions for players. I have a bit of sympathy for him because Ralph struggled to get anything from the team and he was a much more experienced manager. Relegation is certain and maybe a good thing if it breaks a circle of decline, but I did think new owners would do that. All that has happened is an acceleration of decline. Blame is due to everyone, players not giving everything, owners choosing the wrong man and a manager who is not up to rescuing a sinking team, having a recruitment policy that weakened an already weak team. Haven’t come up with any solutions, will just carry on supporting Saints whatever league we are in. Just want a functioning club.
