Both QPR and the Bees head into the Sky Sports live clash buoyed by 3-0 victories at the weekend.
Whilst Rangers were seeing off MK Dons in some style at Loftus Road thanks to three second half goals on Saturday, Lee Carsley’s Bees were extending their mini unbeaten run to three matches with a comfortable win at lowly Charlton Athletic.
That win lifted the Bees into the top half of the table for the first time since the opening week of the campaign, whilst the R’s triumph saw them climb to within five points of the play-offs and just a further point adrift of second spot.
Much of Brentford’s upsurge in form is down to the impact of new boss Carsley, who – since taking over from Marinus Dijkhuizen, who was sacked earlier this month – has guided his charges to three wins on the spin.
The Bees’ home form, however, will give Chris Ramsey’s side some room for optimism, with Brentford winning just two of their six home fixtures to date this season.
Ramsey is unlikely to make many changes ahead of the trip across town, although Charlie Austin could be named in the matchday squad for the first time since picking up a hamstring injury in our defeat to Fulham five weeks ago.
Brentford, meanwhile, are likely to be unchanged.
The Bees have no new injury worries, although Josh McEachran (foot), Jota (ankle) and Andreas Bjelland (knee) remain long-term absentees.
Midfielder John Swift will be involved again after extending his loan spell from Chelsea until January.
