I agree the Brentford game will not be easy, from what I've seen of them on TV they are one of the better footballing sides in the championship and I'm surprised they are not higher in the league.
Afternoon all. I would start either Doukara or Dallas over Sacko. Something just doesn't sit right with me about Sacko, don't think we are a better team for him playing. If Janson is fit then he should start as, no offence to Cooper, he is the better player this season.
Doukara really was limited when he came on, on Saturday. Impact player potentially, but not so sure for 90 minutes
The only reason Sacko is picked is because of the threat of his pace. I get it, but I would have expected him to start delivering an end product by now. Teams realise now that he's not the danger they feared, so I think the time is right to drop him. As for Cooper, Monk has picked him for a reason - and it's not a one-off. That's 2 games now, and there has to be a reason for it, football-wise or otherwise. I agree that he's the better footballer, but he's been dropped for a reason, and we've got to go with Monk's decision on this. I suspect he won't be playing tonight, irrespective if he's still got his 'injury' or not.
Back 4 of Berardi, Ayling, Bartley and Taylor, Cooper on bench Jansson will be another game nearer the cut off point for suspensions so he'll be free for the all important run in
Just read that Cooper has been cited & has until 6pm to reply. Interesting timing, as it's unclear if he'll be available to play tonight if he pleads guilty. I suspect that he'll play tonight, to ease Pontus nearer that cut-off date (and plead guilty/not guilty accordingly to allow him to play) . Plan B will be to play Ayling, again to protect Pontus. Btw, Cooper is facing a 5 game ban, so effectively won't play again this season if banned.
Have to agree with you Mighty. Not looking forward to this one. Brentford are a difficult side to play. Not many goals.
There is not cut off for 15 yellows, carries through to the end of the season so 3 game ban we he gets them regardless of when it is. Only thing I'm not sure on is if 'end of the season' includes the playoffs (they claim it is a separate competition which is why the winners get a trophy and 2nd place doesn't). Got a sneaky feeling for 1-2 for us tonight. Two up and then the usual let in the late one to keep us on the edge of our seats
