Maybe, but Spurs position has been enhanced greatly last season because of his genuis in front of goal, he's a flying machine at the moment, and I don't think AVB will be able to get anyone close to Bale's quality, and RM are not stumping up £85 Million for nothing!................<ok>

    By the way Joey Barton!!!!..................<cheers>

Agreed but they can sort their striker issues and get another quality left winger who doesn't have to do it all on his own. They'd still have significant change left too.

Don't warn them djr! They took something like 9 points after their cup final in Feb! Not surprised Laudrup has hit the friendlies so hard, they needed the form.

Is he being linked? Last I saw he was asking Everton to take him.

He's PL class, without a doubt. He's also scum, but we haven't got to marry him. Being honest I'd prefer it if we didn't sign him, but wow would he have a point to prove if any club brought him back to the PL.

how has campbell been doing? looked a bit on the big side in the echo picture yesterday, he will want to prove himself with us, we could have goals up front next season if all are fit......

marshall was the best keeper in the championship, forget schmeichel.....

as always friendlies are about gelling as a team and scorelines are secondary to that though it must be said conceding so many goals against lower leagues isnt a good sign, just make sure we dont do it in the league.......:)

We'll see, it'll massively shorten the red card market for the derby if we do sign the nutter.

Anyway Phil I'm pretty sure you're about to break a world record for you managing to talk football on our board, so I'm gonna stop helping you and go to bed. <ok>

Haven't deen anything from last night and I know they are pre-season friendlies but at Cheltenham Hudson looked right off the pace, slow on the ground and getting beaten in the air by someone about 6 inches shorter.

Yes, these games are about building match fitness but I wonder if Hudson is still struggling with his injury from the end of last season? Could be why we are said to be going for Caulker.

Also, we are missung Gunnar in front of the back four, no genuine holding mf at present. Reports yesterday were that Gunnar would be fot for West Ham.

As for Dai's comments about our keeper, did Lewis play the whole game last night? If so, then no blame on Marshie who was fine at Cheltenham and lost the goal due to poor marking in front of him. Looks like Moore could take over the no. 2 slot and then put pressure on Marshie.

DJR, its not even a poem really, just some pathetic rambling from someone who is obviously obsessed with Cardiff City. He is probably to be found in the cast of Flesh Gordon.....Dr Flexy Jerkoff !!

We shouldnt be conceding so many goals.

However last season showed we were the hardest working team in the Championship.

Our game is about high work rate and closing teams down.

When the real stuff starts we will be doing what we do best.

As for Joe Lewis hes about to become 3rd choice keeper.

The only keeper id prefer to Marshall in the PL is De Gea.

Our goalkeeper is not a problem.

I do think we need a quick left back and centre half before kick off.

However Declan John may soon be ready to step in.

What is a worry is new signings coming in so late. It takes time to gel as a team.

I dont believe we will sign Caulker. But if Malky is interested I dont understand why we havent bid weeks ago.

Our strikers are fine - Swansea have Bony. Then Luke Moore. Luke Moore is nowhere near as good as players who wont get on our bench.

There wont be much difference between 8th and bottom.

Malky needs to act quickly to improve the squad - I thought we would have improved significantly by now but we havent.

Saying that Malky had funds in January and didnt act and was successful.

Lets hope hes got it right again.

I agree with all that Hilts, except we don't know how long MM has been after Caulker. Maybe Spurs position has changed due to the availability of other targets?

Signing caulker will be the difference to you staying up or not IMO . He is a great centre half, there are other options but I think it's important that your defense is solid,if it is then there is always a chance of sneaking a goal.

As for Joey Barton. The bloke is a scum bag and will cost a lot of money for sitting in the stands serving 3 match bans, I don't see him changing now so it's a gamble to sign him, malky seems the type that would be quite happy to give him a kicking if he stepped out of line so it may be a deal that could work

I don't think Barton would be a popular signing. He certainly does not conform to the type of player Malky likes. Rarely do you see our guys stepping out of line on or off the pitch.

I really hope we don't go anywhere Joey Barton, Though I believe reports are stating he wants to go to Everton and is willing to take a pay cut to play for them.

Lets hope he does that then and we can enjoy winding him up when Everton come to us.
