The Swans were pretty much the same in their first pre-season, losing to the likes of Neath etc, I think its a combination of fitness levels not quite being there and players trying to keep themselves injury free until the proper stuff starts. Of course Cardiff will be rady fr action when the whistle blows at West Ham. The only problem I see is that if/when they sign new defenders they will need a bedding in process,this should be happening now not in a few weeks time,we saw ourselves with Chico flores that it takes 6 games to get into a settled defensive partnership. It was easy for Ben Davies to come into the team as our youngsters play the exactly the same system as the seniors.
Brentford start on the weekend and you don't start for another 2 weeks after that so Brentford's fitness is at match readiness which I'm guessing would explain the late goal. Friendlies are just to get a run out and don't mean a lot. If you can get a result at West Ham this game will be forgotten about plus I would guess there should be a signing or two before then.
We just lost to Brentford, friendly or not, and if they weren't all over it I would think someone had dropped a bomb on Swansea and the internet had died.
