Ford Heath; the middle of nowhere
Another solid performance and result against another good side on some excellent form. I thought we were better and knocked the ball around very well in the first half without creating much, bar one chance for Purdie. I thought Grandison, Jones, Weale and Richards were our standout performers, although Purdie and Taylor were both pretty decent. Again, I thought Bradshaw had a decent cameo.

Rodgers had the best chance of the first half when he mis-kicked from about 10 yards. Can't believe that a few people on Sloppy Radio were nominating him as man of the match. Wildig picked a few good passes today. MOM has got to come from the defence because of the clean sheet. Goldson steady and Gayle a bit in and out. Weale-one outstanding save but the central two were excellent and difficult to pick one. On balance, I will go for Jones who also produced the pass of the match- a long diagonal pass to Taylor.

How things change, eh! Jones is heading from zero to ...

Taylor good game and almost got my vote but I too went for Jones. Richards is working well in cm. Wildig got some early abuse from people in central south stand but did do some excellent passing, just needs to get stronger and more willing tackle and shoot. Purdie is playing well and did sine great runs too. Some mupoets on radio slop slating Purdie, Wildig and Morgan claiming they were useless, what game did they go to?

A very creditable team performance from all - why does Radio Shropshire pick people who do nothing but slate the players and sometimes the manager? Difficult to pick out one player but I would go for Richards as he did much stirling defensive work trying to stem the flow of the excellent Brentford midfield. I was very pleased to see Purdie play well - he looks much more at home at wing back than at full back. I also thought Wildig played better and was pleased to see Bradshaw offer something a bit different in the last ten minutes or so. We are now reaping some benefit from having a relatively settled side and I can go to Coventry with a bit more hope than a few weeks ago. A draw there would be a good result but our first away win of the season would be a great way to start the New Year.
