Have Brentford pushed their luck too far with their maverick approach to appointing managers?

Keith Andrews now confirmed and unveiled as Frank's replacement, but you have to wonder why. Could it be he's cheap?

Just listened to his interview with Bees TV and I honestly want to throw up when I hear him speak. All fkn cliches and just another talking head. He properly used to love slamming Leeds when he was a Sky pundit, and the rubbish he spoke then was bordering on clown territory.

This could be a good appointment for Leeds, because if he bombs then Brentford could very easily be struggling in the bottom three. They have some talented players, but they need a leader in the Frank mould to push them on. Andrews doesn't strike me as a leader.

It's a massive step up from set piece coach to manager, add to this the pressure of the Prem monies and you have to wonder what the Brentford leadership saw in Andrews to promote him.

It's going to be interesting to see how their players react, and if they don't get at least 9 points from their first 8 games there will be a few twitches in the club.

Am I wrong to think that Andrews isn't the right appointment for Brentford after Frank?

Its a strange one.

If we did something like that it definitely wouldn't work. Everything points to Brentford being a huge failure especially if Mbuemo leaves.

It’s what they did with Thomas Frank and that worked out okay. I hope they’ve got it wrong but let’s be honest, they’ve managed to survive in the premier league far longer than we have.

It's all about who they can keep ahold of now aint it. can't see broad shoulder Leeds hater having the key to bringing in big names. time will tell I guess but a very strange appointment. could actually be a good time to have a go at a player or two am sure will be a few unsettled.

He must have impressed them as set piece coach. You get to know what someone brings to the party when you work with them… however from the outside it looks like a major risk… I’ve always felt they were only ever a small mistake away from delegation. Let’s hope this is that mistake.
