    liverpool needs a good shake up and that has started by sacking a legend in kenny, OK liverpool have not done much in decades in the league and have never won the premiership. and yes they are not the draw for managers that they were years ago.....liverpool need to settle down and accept they are not a top 4 team and take a couple of seasons building the side to be able to challenge the top teams. A good manager is needed and that manager must be given time as instant results dont ever happen....

    Im glad he trurned us down. Hes a good manager with no pressure on him for a little two bob joke club like Swansea that are happy to just stay in the league but I dont think he would find it so easy at a proper club. I think Swansea will be relegated next season and Rodgers will be back on the scrap heap failing at clubs like Reading.

    Haha. Two bob joke club.
    In 180 minutes of football this season, Liverpools £60 million strike force couldn't score a single goal against Swansea's 'poundland' defence.
    I have no gripe with Liverpool as a team, but the problem is with some fans refusing to accept the situation that the club is in now. Yes in the past they were world beaters but not now. It really is a sign of the times when lil'ol two bob joke clubs have their manager turn down the chance of managing Liverpool.

    Brendan Rodgers didn't turn Liverpool down after they'd offered him the job. He turned down the chance to be part of an interview process because he felt he was too good to be part of an interviewing process and felt he should be offered the job straight up even though he's a much less impressive candidate out of other managers who are available like Van Gaal, Villas-Boas and Benitez.

    Fair enough to him if thats how he feels, we're probably better off not having him, because last time we had a manager who had delusions of grandeur (Hodgson) we did really poorly.

    Come on, girls.

    Seriously, I'm not a betting man but I notice the odds have shortened dramatically on Rodgers. What's going on, I thought he turned us down?

    Please tell me that RB doesn't stand for Rafa Benitez. Because if it does, you should just turn the computer off and really evaluate which sport you want to follow. Because you clearly know nothing about football.

    Rubadub you are a joke of a fan. If you can't respect other teams then **** off. Any real fan can appreciate the excellent job Swansea have done this season, they played great football and brought through some real bright prospects. I only have positive words for them as a club and their fans. I also really admire Rodgers for sticking with them and showing that he has long term ambition and a real passion for the club, rather than just jumping ship at the nearest 'big club', (I use quotation marks because at the moment we certainly don't have the huge appeal we used to sadly).

    So in your tiny mentality he's racist because he called a Swansea fan a sheepshagger.

    <laugh>

    PS.

    This thread was ok until the Aussie sheep worrier got excited.

    Why the abuse ,it's his opinion whether valid or not. I'm afraid I have to agree with some of the comments ,yes Liverpool are still a big club but in the scheme of things you're not even reaching the dizzy heights of finishing in the top 4 ,very suspect buys (Downing FFS ,Carrol was a panic buy etc ) and yes you need to have a period of stability from within ,thats what you've always been famous for, recruiting from within with personnel who know how the club works. th problem you've got is ,hard nosed owners who see it as business end of If you disagree fine .it's your club but don't dismiss what others see with a tirade of abuse .
    Back to the OP , Brendan appears to have his own agenda and on it ( we hope) is to see how far as a club can go.He has a nucleus of squad of players who can play the why he wants the game to be played and importantly time,would he have that at Liverpool?
