Yeah, that was my reading of the Konch situation. He was an obvious figurehead for discontent about Hodgson, having played for him previously. I don't think anyone at Fulham resented him taking the opportunity, and it's a shame it didn't work out for him.
Funny how your criteria for being great is exactly the amount of trophies that Liverpool have won. How about the team with the most titles, or the most doubles, or the most fans. The European Cup is pish. It was a random knockout competition and now its a Money spinner for the the football "elite". Nothing more. And I am saying this as a fan of the team who are the current holders. Liverpool were awesome in the 80's, I watched them many times, and were I a glory hunter, I probably would have supported them (my dad would have killed me though), but please....no one gives a **** now. You haven't won a league title in 22 years, and your team has slipped from the top 4, probably for a while. This kind of BS is the reason people hate Liverpool, the delusions of your fans are crazy!!

Why for money of course! lol I meant I dont care about your "benchmark" for what makes a club great, it is subjective. Personally I dont rate the European Cup higher than the Premier League, although others do, purely because its a knockout and it isnt a benchmark for who is the best, only a league can do that. We won it this year for Christ sakes, the 6th placed PL team!! And you finished 5th last time you won it, tell me how that is an accurate benchmark of greatness?!
But you could flip that round and say, Man City won the Prem this year but didn't even manage to get out of their group in the Champ League. That's how tough the Champ league is that the 2 clubs competing for our league got knocked out at the group stages. Two ways of looking at everything. The fact the rest of Europe rate the Champ League so highly probably proves that it is considered the major trophy in club football. In Europe even the Europa league is considered a brilliant competition to win. It seems to be the "English thinking" that our trophies are far more important than everyone elses, most notibly your comments about the league being more important and others suggesting the Europa league is a waste of a competition. You only need to watch Bilbao play last year to realise how serious other Countries take it.
Says it all really, you may as well feck off now and not come back again as you have no credibility whatsoever.
And there's the reason you lost the debate,a straight knockout competition for reigning league champions only(as pre CL)is the true 'benchmark' for real European Champions.
How in the hell is a knockout competition the true benchmark either? By that rationale then you believe the team who wins the FA cup are better than the league champions?!
