Walker still makes a lot of mistakes defensively as well, both players are at a very similar level in my opinion and both have great potential.
Threads like this make you lot seem pretty sad. Top four threads right now - about Liverpool's manager, City's manager, a City transfer and an Arsenal player you might sign (fair enough).
Subjective and of course both opinions. I just think Walker has a certain edge to him over Rafael... and believe me it takes a lot for me to compliment a Spud
You may be right - haven't seen Walker all that much. Although I think he has less top level experience than Rafael. Would be interesting to see how he coped with players in the Champions League...but then I guess he'll have to move clubs for that to happen
Dont think Rodgers will be sacked....Purely for the reason that he has not been set a target for the season, therefore he cannot under achieve. Of course if Liverpool were to finish bottom half and show no signs of progression then it could happen, but anyone who has been watching Liverpools preseason will know that things are actually looking pretty good in terms of style, team morale and effectiveness. You are of course entitled to your opinion and I love it when fans of other teams spend a good part of their time talking about us. Top four this season will most likely be City, United, Chelsea and Arsenal. But fifth is really up for grabs and I think Liverpool will have a very good shot at it. May bewrong, but Im just not seeing positive things happenning at Spurs and Newcastle do lack some squad depth. Liverpool have a very good spine in reina, Agger, Skrtel, Lucas, Gerrard, Suarez. And there are alot of good youngsters in the team and on the verge of the team..... Im not going to go shouting that we are the best thing since sliced bread, but i think we will show good improvement on last seasons results
Reina is overrated and looking more and more dodgy each season...De Gea is miles better and will be the best keeper in the world in 12 months time. Agger is overrated and injury prone...Scott Wooton is actually better than Agger now and he is in our reserves, he will be the best defender in the world in 6 months time. Gerrard is too old now, what is he, 34? That is too old to be playing PL football in midfield...Scholes and Giggs will show this season that they are better than Gerrard. Scholes is still the best midfielder in the world at age 37, better than anyone else, except Giggs...who is better than everyone in the world, and has been for the last 21 years. Lucas is only there because he is Brazilian, he is rubbish as Brazilians don't cut it in the PL...Anderson is loads better than him anyway, as are Rafael and Fabio. Anderson will be the best player in the world in 8 weeks time and Fabio will be the best player in the world in 2 years time, better even than Anderson, and his brother, and Giggs and Scholes who are not too old to be playing in the PL, but Gerrard is. Suarez should have been deported last year, what he said to Evra was that bad that Evra could not repeat it at the hearing (hahahahahaha) and Fergie was that astounded by it that he completely got the term used 100% incorrect! Evra has been the best left-back in the world since he signed for United, and still is by a country mile, the only player who comes close to Evra is the young lad who plays for United's reserves, or whoever United sign as cover, then they will become the second best in the world by a country mile. Anyway, these are not my opinions, these are the opinions of UIR, I thought I would save him the time and reply for him! By the way, did I mention that Rafael is going to be the best RB in the world by a 'country mile', whatever the **** that means in child speak!
Back to the Rafael debate, I'm not sure, he clearly has great attacking qualities and has a nice connection with Valencia on the right hand side, but it has to be said Valencia helps him quite allot, IMO he is the best out and out winger in the prem maybe even world, quality signing from a smaller club (shows you dont have to go for the big names). Defensively Rafael still has loads to learn, his positioning can be very poor at times and he doesn't seem on the same wavelength as your CB's fairly often, He is very rash and easily wound up (when Suarez tugged his hair about 20 seconds later he lunged in 2 footed and fairly high could've easily been a red)(yes it was scummy by Suarez but that's not the point) I do see Rafael very often as well due to basically all my mates been united fans and I aint one to miss out on a trip to the pub. Over the next few years we will see if he can grow into one of the worlds best but right now he has allot to learn. I would put Richards, Johnson, Sagna, Walker and Ivanovic ahead of him from the prem currently but who knows what the future brings? just the views of an LFC fan that aint baz or any other biased/WUM/deluded
After the lies and bullshit we've (Swansea) put up with from Rodgers and then him agreeing to not come back and tap up any of our players - then getting Joe Allen from us - I hope he keeps his job long enough for us to stuff the living sh!t up Liverpool at the Liberty. Pleeeeeeeease Manchester United - give them an 8 -1 drubbing for us Swans.
**** it. Make it 8-0. Sacked by Christmas, heard it here first!!! WIll be keeping tabs on this great thread.
That's a fair assessment. A lot will also be down to you fans on how much time you give him, although there would appear to be an acceptance of Rodgers that you never gave to Hodgson. Rodgers will also not have Kenny Dalglish sitting in the stands every game after his job, which did Hodgson no favours at all. At least the myth that KK could come back and do a job of any sort has been blown away once and for all. I like Rodgers, enjoyed watching the Swans when he was there and went down to see them when I got the chance, including the Wembley play off final. The fans loved him. What he has done leaves a very bitter taste in the mouth, the Swans fans tunred on Martinez and I never undrstood it as he was essentially taking a step up at the time but Rodgers has stabbed them right in the back. He tapped Allen up, end of, and there can be no excuses at all for what he did and how he did it. Any stick he gets he will deserve. There's a bit inside me that hopes he struggles for that reason alone, let alone that he is now boss of the enemy.
the only manager we've not backed is Hodgson. Because he's so useless, demoralising and plays the worst football in the history of sport. He should have never been given the job and been sacked 6 months sooner than he was. The rest have had faults (every manager does) but Roy had absolutely no positives. It was an onslaught of negative everything.
I was fine with woy bad footy signings n all until he said "I can't stop Torres going to Man UNited" What a tool even if it was true you dont fkn say that, that was a sackable offence in itself. The giant pciture of torres outside anfield and he says that, fookin ****** but best england coach for a while though!
UIR I tihnk we can all agree the signs are good as far as Rogers is concerned, we'll have to wait for the pudding though You do change your moniker tooo much, identity crisis? Or fickle, I'd say a bit of both
Anyone else actually read whatever this backward spastic **** ever writes? Didnt think so, its sort of offensive to normal peoples eyes. I mean its like nohlman or matth having a dig at you, hilarious
A sensible answer from someone who seems to have a clue. Cant argue too much with that. The players you mentioned are all far more experienced so will obviously be better bar Walker who I think Rafael is on a par with. Personally think hes better than Johnson but each to their own. Probably a bit of bias going on
