If Rafael is the best right back in the world. Why was it last night that he got his arse split open by a Mexico player and then had the brass balls to whinge at his team-mates?
You making some sort of unholy dogcat mutant? If not I highly doubt it You lot massive underrate Rafael based on his youthful exuberance. Completely forgetting the numerous times hes pocketed some of the best left sided players in football. You do the same with all our players, Kagawa being the newest one. I suspect your managers over the years have done the same along with those at other clubs. Idiots
He definitely had a poor game (everybody has them), but it was Juan that started the whinging when he walked over and started an argument with him. For the record, I don't think Rafael is the best right back in the world, but at only 22 he certainly has the potential to be right up there.
You and your predictions. If you put money on your predictions and they all actually happen, you would be able to hire Roman Abramovich and pay him to wash your yacht.
You would be surprised with how often I am right. You are reading too much into the morons who respond to me, note I said m and not the point I was making. You have tried yourself a few times, often misreading what I put but you do try and have discussions rather than childish digs. But yeh, I could say Liverpool have a good looking squad this season and they will be fighting for 4th come may. I would get the same tired responses as always. I suspect I have seen Rafael far more than you, seen the good and the bad? Would you agree? So I would be in a better position than yourself to make the claim? I wouldnt be the only one either, hes quite a highly rated young lad
I am noty saying anyone has said ity, Rafael is not even in the top 5 FFS.. He plays for Brazil cos of a lack of serious competition in that position thats all
In the league which are better than him? Theres a few but the list isnt huge and those that are tend to be far more established and experience
He quite clearly is considering hes the only right back and considering Chelsea showed brief interest ( if reports are to be believed ) then I would think yourselves wanted him before he signed his contract. Not bad for a player who is apparently ****. Go ahead and name some better RB's, even better if you could name their age and current role in their team. Bit part, first choice, rotation. When fit 8 out of 10 times rafael plays.
Tongue in cheek mate (bit like when people say Ringo Starr wasn't even the best drummer in The Beatles). or as you would put it; hook, line and sinker
He may turn out to be a good player, but he needs to cut out school-boy errors which he makes on occasions. Atm Chris Smalling naturally a centre back, is a better right back than Rafael.
Smalling is a very capable right back and probably edges Rafael for defensive awareness, but Rafael easily has the edge in work rate, pace and attacking ability. Rafael has all the tools to be an excellent fullback, he just needs to calm his temperament a little, and to be fair he is improving in that department every season, he was very rash and hot headed all of the time where as now he just has the odd moment or two of madness during a game that seems to overshadow his overall performance, but he's only 22 so I expect him to get much better in that department with a bit more experience.
You two deserve each other Smalling is better defensively, but Rafael is much better going forwards. I agree with UIR - very few right backs in the PL compare to Rafael in terms of ability to attack and defend. Ivanovic and Sagna are both obviously better, but given their ages and experience that's not surprising. Other than that, none can claim to be clearly better in all aspects.
