Why should Chelsea 'put a block on it'? Nonsense. Chelsea have a first team that this kid is rarely if ever going to break into and if you want unhappy players that don't get 'real' game time and experience then yes, block it! Bad for the player, and bad for Chelsea imo. The move is a win win win as all three parties will benefit in the short and long run.

As for Rodgers coming out in the press I think it's because it's a done deal. :)

In fairness, how many Chelsea youngsters have progressed into the first team in my lifetime? Terry? That's the only one I can think of...

True but any Chelsea fan will tell you Josh is the best we've had since Terry.

As long as injuries to the squad are ok I wouldn't mind this happening and least it's to a team that plays the 'right' way, much like the player himself. However bear in mind we also have ACN this year which could mean us being another 3-4 players down come new year.

Realistically, Chelsea's objectives this season will determine things! With Essien still to return--suspensions from red cards coming thick and fast, the PL, CL and now the 1/4 finals of the plastic cup, and not to mention the FA cup--we are going to need Josh and he will be likely to be getting a fair few games, and when not he'll be on the bench! I'm not against him getting experience with Swansea--its just that he's got an important part to play in our own objectives!

sturridge didnt get a look in for 18 months, goes on loan to bolton, shows what he can do if he is given a run of first team football and now he's almost a regular <ok>

chelsea is not the place to be if you are a young player IMO, it may be down to the previous managers not wanting to give youngsters a chance due to abramovic sacking managers so regularly or simply that the players arent good enough, all i know is that players need a chance to prove themselves and in general they dont get that at chelsea <ok>

Forgot about Sturridge. A good example of how everyone can win. Good spot, Swamp.

I think the thing is if you look at our previous managers is none have really been bothered about the youth, Mourinho was always spending money and has everywhere his gone just to build a winning team and didn't really rely on youth, Ancelotti was always looking for experienced players and never cared for youth, Grant was short term as was Scolari who was just a donkey of a manager and Hiddink was only ever a short term boss like a caretakers role. With AVB fingers crossed it looks like were planning long-term as his a young manager and we paid 13 million for him and judging by his signings this season he is very much looking to the youth and we seem to know the deal now, so youth will be a major factor in the upcoming seasons and next season the age of our team should drop significantly and i know the games will come quick and we may require Josh for the odd game but i'd still rather Josh along with Lukaku go on loan as from next season we will need them. A loan is beneficial to everyone so lets hope it goes through !

You,ve (imo) an aging squad and with the new rules being introduced more home grown talent will(again imo ) should be encouraged. The loan system can be a great way of developing players as long as long as they're used wisely.Look at our own Scott ,loaned here there and everywhere and I bet he improved and learnt lessons along the way.

Swansea would do well to get hold of Josh. He is a real talent. As a Chelsea fan I am very keen to hold on to this lad, as he will go all the way. He has absolutely eveything in his locker and the only thing keeping him out of the first team is the like os Ramires, Lampard, Mata, Maloouda etc... Will defintaley be a future Chelsea superstar. Good luck to the Swans aswel. I follow you lot having gone to Uni in Swansea and like to see the do well. Keep up the hard work and enjoy life in the top flight, oh and don't forget to give those scummy B@stards up the road some abuse for being a league down! You know who I'm talking about!
