All the tabloids are saying the same thing, which leads me to believe that one decides to fabricate something and all the others just copy and post the same..... That said, I too get jittery about these things..... Interesting though at the same time, there are other reports about the successes of our potential signings i.e siggs... I think until there is news then there is no news - remember the saga of Taylor last year..... Does anyone know if it is true that Sinclair is refusing to sign?? If so should we get shot then - to be honest I was just as impressed with Routledge and would be happy to have him as a perm replacement....
I think its just another example of this lazy journalism. He is in america to see the Wales game and Liverpool's bosses are American so he must be talking to them It been reported that Martinez has been offered the Liverpool job and who really thinks he will turn it down? Il be shocked if he does
tbh i would turn it down, dave whelan has supported martinez to the max, 3 losses and he will be out unless m or br want the paypout when they r sacked
I hope this is BS, i like Brendan, i don't want him damaging his reputation and prospects by joing a poor liverpool side. Why would he leave you, with a promising side, and fans who adore him, for a team where he'd be hounded out after 2 months for not being Kenny Dalglish?
Well if any of the lazy written stuff is true - I really would be surprised if Brendan would accept a roll where he did not have total control of the club... If there are 2 chefs, how do they know who is responsible if they are not turning out results..... Brendan got burned once by running before he could walk... I have no doubts that he is more than capable of managing a top club, but I don't have faith in the way these top clubs are run... If he was there for 6 months and binned because they are not on course already for the Champions league, the title, FA and League Cup, then I think he would be not far off back in the same boat before he came to us - I think he needs a few more seasons - There is plenty of time for a top manager - if that is what he proves to be then they will come calling again at which time we need to thank him for his services, wish him luck and hope he doesn't raid our club for our best players.... If we've secured Siggs and Caulker - lets hope we can get a couple more pearls for the season ahead and enjoy the ride again......
Its all paer talk rubbish. Sky Sports on Saturday night went through the back page headlines of various papers for Sunday morning. They ranged from Brendan to Liverpool under a director of football to Martinez signing for Liverpool today to Martinez talking with Villa. It was hilarious. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18235961
Rodgers needs to scotch this now if there's nothing in it, or at the very least speak to Siggy who will not sign if Rodgers goes. Feel sorry for Jenkins having to put these fires out. It'll either all come together or the whole thing will come apart. If we don't sign Siggy and Rodgers goes now I really fear for us. Btw: I see the usual suspects have turned on our manager when we don't know the facts yet. Phill - you've already had to apologise once for name calling - that specific name in fact. Don't be so foolish.
Huw and Brendan should sue the papers that are writing this rubbish. It's libelous and needs to be stopped.
Decent shout. It obviously affects those involved, so why shouldn't we be allowed to sue if it was complete fabrication?
if he does indeed go for a "talk", he may as well **** off now. some ****ing loyalty eh . what are you on??? what would you do if you are offered a job as big as liverpool....Loyalty..what is loyalty? there is no such thing when it comes to a career move....we are talking liverpool here...anyway its all speculation at the moment as most people are still on holiday, but even if it was all true then dont you think he should have the opportunity to listen to what they have to say.....we dont own him we employ him and if a bigger better paid job comes along then Brendan and only brendan can make the choice...he has earned it.....Lets just see what happens shall we as there will be more speculations to come yet.
Strangely, Brendan is now favourite for the Liverpool job with most bookies despite Huw saying it's all bollocks. Is there something else going on here. If the bookies have got it wrong, then a good chance to make some money by getting decent odds on the next manager. Looking forward to what Martinez has to say tomorrow.
Better to be used as a stepping stone and end up in the Premier League than have a bunch of managers who can't get you promoted.
Knackered I have not turned on our manager, but simply put up an article that is tongue in cheek, to reflect the paper talk, now it may only be paper talk, or it might be that Rodgers has arranged a meeting with Liverpool, and has not yet spoken to Jenkins about it, and it wouldn't be the first time though, that Jenkins has come out and said 'I know nothing' now if you don't like it, then jog on sunshine, are you a man or what, always whinging, get a life will you. By the way oh Knackered one!, I agree with you regarding Jenkins having to put these fires out, I too feel sorry for him, seems to me to be some Déjà vu here! I hope Rodgers moves quickly to dispel all this, but let's be honest here it's in the Independent, Telegraph, and Express, are we saying that all three are making this up, or is it a case of no smoke without fire! I'm with Vetch on this one, well said Vetch!...................
I'm assuming all this Liverpool conjecture is claptrap. The trouble is, it would make sense for Rodgers to go whilst the opportunity is there. If Swans have a poor second season and struggle, which is not beyond the bounds of reason, then Brendan's star will have waned and bigger clubs would be wary of approaching him again, therefore he might well be tempted to grab the job offer now. So where would that leave us? Surely Buck wouldn't be so crass as to leave knowing that it might well scupper the chance of Siggy and Caulker coming to us? Who knows? Ah well, not going to worry about it until I know for certain but, just in case, my vote for a new guy would go to Gus Poyet. Probably won't come to that though.
