As far as I see it Knackered your the one talking Bollox! I don't rate Rodgers the way you do, yes he's made some good signings, but his tactics at some games where mind blowing as were his subs, Liverpool have bought the media hype, and that hype was based on the Swansea game, which was developed by Martinez and Sousa, not Rodgers, what part of that don't you understand? He'll be found out all right, I'll put money on it, my only worry is as Norway and Ivor have stated, with losing players, and backroom staff again, but I'm sure our board will overcome! By the way I'm not turning on our manager, but why should I be jumping for joy, when he's clearly, if the reports are correct, doing a U turn from his dismissal of Liverpool the other week, I see another Martinez here, but lets see what transpires, before you go blowing your Rodgers trumpet!................. <ok>

I would be very dissapointed if he left. Liverpool will recover in a season or two but he's not the man for the job, so he should not be a fool and stay here.

I really do worry that if he goes it could knock us off course enough to put us in serious trouble next season. I know the team was built by Martinez beforehand anyway but I just have a bad feeling about it...plus, if he goes, will we be able to get hold of another quality CB? I cannot seriously see Garry monk playing 38 games without us letting in a lot of goals...HJ needs to fight tooth and nail to keep BR.

Knackered let me put this to you, If Liverpool offer Rodgers the job, he'll be gone, as he has told friends that "although he is happy in Wales he is intrigued by the chance to manage one of football's biggest clubs. He is pondering whether such an opening will come around again". What a turnaround from a week ago, as if loyal to Swansea city, no wonder the Watford fans have no time for him, and neither will I, if this transpires to be true, as the press are saying it will. You can blow his trumpet if you want, but I'll move on very quickly to who we'll get next as manager, and 'Brenda the tea lady' can suck up to the yanks at Anfield! I've no time for people who are disloyal, which seems to be the norm these days................... <ok>

So some of you think he's being announced on Friday as Liverpool manager <doh> what without the interviews that Martinez is going through ? Sorry but the media storm that is around this is not based on fact, and blindly believing any of it is laughable.

We have had our answer 3 times from the club, Brendan has refused to speak to them first, and twice the club have said that Liverpool haven't been in touch, I think I believe what they are saying rather than all the guesses and wild speculation on here and other places.

dragon its not often i agree with kangaroo but he is right on this. you are showing no respect to a manager and dam good bloke who took us to the premiership.
because i respect and like the guys attitude i think he will stay with us anyway as he might get a good contract at liverpool that will make him a millionaire over night but at a huge risk to deliver and fast.
dont disrespect the guy dragon as he has given us our dream and i will always respect him for that...I just think you are angry with him because of the situation and you are lashing out. we all know what he has done and because of what he has achieved with us we are or should i say he is hot property. he cant help that and there will be nobody more surprised that some big teams want him than himself,.......This if he actually does get an offer from any of the big clubs must hurt him as much as you but he must make the decision that will determine his future,
I am not going to give up yet as i think he is an intelligent man and will make the right decision and stay in a safe job and carry on building his and our reputation. he is a good man dragon...

Interesting to see if your vitriol will continue if he stays, DPJ. I sense another apology.<laugh>

If anyone expects any manager or player to be loyal they are deluded. Only the fans are loyal, and not all of them either.

Brenden has done great here but i dont understand the conflicting stories from one week to the next, seems to me it might be a case of "dont bother putting me on a short list just offer me the job"

There is another way to look at this, Rodgers has to talk to Liverpool !! if he doesnt at least talk to them then he will be perceived as having a lack of ambition, which will mean he might not be in the frame for other jobs if they crop up, by going there for talks he is sending the right "message" of ambition to media people and big clubs, when he has heard everything they have to say he can turn it down and argue that there were issues that wernt to his liking or certain aspects of the job that didnt fit in with his ideas(like working under a technicla director)

There could well be alot of smoke and Mirrors at play here, when rodgers made his origional statement there were mutterings from the press that he was showing a lack of ambition, well if he goes there and talks the job with liverpool then the press are in no mistake that brenden is an ambitous guy and they can carry on writing the love story next season and try to fit him into the other 16 prem clubs that he hasnt been linked with!!

This may be a long term thinking move by our club and rodgers, we all know if he does well he is gone in the next 2 yrs what he will want ot have going with him is the aura of ambition, Martinez is playing the game perfectly, putting himself in the frame for the big jobs, raising his profile and then knocking them back for whatever "legitimate" reasons he can find!! next big job that comes up Martinez is a part of the process again!!

Its all about becoming a member of the exclusive merry go round manager club, to enter it you have to be constantly linked to bigger clubs and be deemed young and ambitious, this is something rodgers has failed to tackle twice! first with Chelsea and then Liverpool . Keep knocking big names back and they wont come knocking ever again, but show them enough intrest to get them thinking you are part of the selection process then thats a different thing all together!!

I would like to think rodgers will go there and listen and return happy to the swans, nobody loses face either !!

It's been rumoured that RM has stalled on his decision because he will likely be asked to work with a Director of Football (probably Van Gaal) when he really wants to be in complete charge.

Now, I've just been on the Liverpool Board and picked up some worrying info for those who want to see BR stay with us. Basically one poster wrote that Rodgers has a good relationship with Van Gaal from the time he went to Barca to study his coaching methods.

This might be the factor that tilts the scales in Rodgers' favour. RM wants sole responsibility for team matters whereas it could well be that Rodgers wouldn't have any problems working with someone whom he obviously respects and is quite friendly with.

    We'll know soon enough.

Oh I see, because I tell the truth I'm a Cardiff fan. You and the others who think this just show yourselves up for what you really are. Regarding the odds, I have explained many times but you sound too stupid to understand. If odds move massively if USUALLY means something is going on. It's not 100% accurate bit just shows something is happening. So the odds moved towards Rodgers and it seemed almost a certainty that he'd get the job. Then they moved back so it seemed whoever was placing the money may have got it wrong (it happens). But the two hot favorites are Martinez and Rodgers and the betting clearly shows that. So it a wider sense it seems to be spot on, as it looks like one of these two will get the job. Seems to me that Brendan will get it if he wants it, but if he doesn't then Martinez will get it. I didn't throw in the towel but was commenting on the odds. They moved back towards Martinez so suddenly that it seemed like the Brendan speculation was wrong. I was commenting on the odds. I personally have no idea what is going on. I base my speculation mostly on the odds and with some press speculation - not all of it, because most is crap. But you can pick out bits that seem to be genuine.

So just grow up will you. Attacking other fans for speculating is out of order.

And your lie that I said "I'm off to bed to leave you guys to worry" just shows that you will even make things up to try to make me look bad. I went to bed because it was late. I didn't say I was leaving you guys to worry. There is nothing to worry about. Managers come and go. Brendan will leave one day and the next manager will leave and the one after will leave. They will all leave. That's life mate. Just deal with it.

So here's a more balance article from the BBC. The BBC don't usually go for out and out speculation like the press and they are usually pretty accurate. So have a read. Looks to me like the job is Brendan's if he wants it. The question is does he want it, and that is what only he can answer. But I'm sure we will read in the press who's got the job before any official announcement is made. And I'm also sure the odds will tell us who's getting it. Brendan is favorite now because he appears to be No. 1 choice and is thinking seriously about it. That has to make him favorite. But it doesn't mean he'll take/get the job. But all the signs are there.

Some of you have said you will wait for the official announcement. So just wait and stop reading this thread and complaining. If you only believe official announcements then why are you wasting your time here?

There are some great people on here, but there are also some that really need to grow up.

Have a read and remember it's the BBC saying it not me. I have to say that because a few of you can't tell the difference.

For those of you who don't understand how this sort of situation works, then let me enlighten you. If the club issue a statement saying that Liverpool haven't made an approach, then that is the truth, but it is only for the fans. The real action happens behind the scenes. The Liverpool agents talk to Brendan's agents and let each other know what's going on. Once it's all been decided that Liverpool want him and he wants to go there then there will be a formal approach. But because there hasn't been an approach doesn't mean that things aren't being discussed. If Brendan decides he doesn't want the job then no approach will be made. So don't read anything into those official statements, as they are meaningless. What goes on behind the scenes will never be officially announced.

And that is why we always have so much press speculation. The fans want to know what's going on so the press have to find out. They often get it totally wrong or just make it up, but that's life. You can't blame the press because fans love speculation. Just look at how popular this thread is. Much more popular than fact based threads. Even the ones on here who claim they will wait for an official announcement are on here reading, commenting and speculating. That's football.

Casual Fan, why are you creating new threads about this ? People are beginning to see you for who you are, not a fan of this club, looking at some of your previous threads now that I know how to do that is full of the same kind of stuff, like vorm going to utd as a recent one!

And you appear to take some satisfaction out of it all, in my personal opinion I just wish you would sod off, I know it's not my decision and everyone is entitled to post here, but man you piss me off !

I already explained in the other thread why I posted it, so read that and you'll know. You'll also know that I asked the mods to delete it or close it. So what's your problem?

I take no satisfaction in Bendan leaving (if he does). You are obviously reading something into my posts that aren't there. There is massive speculation about him leaving. If you want to bury your head in the sand you are free to do so. I'm not going to sod off for the likes of you. If you don't like what I post then don't read it. Is the simple enough for you. Just create your own thread called Bendan's Staying and you and your mates can pretend nothing's happening.

I still want him to stay and hope he does, but it doesn't look likely at the moment, though things can always change. See? I want him to stay. Do you understand that or are you brain dead? I don't know how I can get people like you to understand because you have your own agenda.

But I do find it interesting that you give other people the power to piss you off. Don't you have any control over your emotions? How can a complete stranger piss you off if you claim not to agree with them? You are one strange person. Sort your own life out and don't blame others. No-one is forcing you to read this thread, so run along and do something else.

I refuse to even consider Buck leaving atm. The club has announced that Liverpool have NOT made an approach, and it's merely paper talk that is saying Buck is off to chat with them. If, and only if, the club say that he is holding talks, I will then wish him all the luck in the world. He deserves it.

At the end of the day, he is NOT bigger than SCFC!

You've been outed Cardiff fan, I'm not the only one that thinks it either. Your articles and little slip ups in your posts give you away. You don't talk like a Swans fan would. At least John Hughs is up front about his allegiances and his Wum's.
