He's earned a new deal more than anyone else in the squad. His goals just kept coming and coming last season and he was a very big reason why we got promoted. A lot of clubs will be kicking themselves on not taking a punt on Lambert, none more so than Huddersfield! West Ham's interest in him this season (if rumours are true) was far far too late.
Love it! Singing the rickie lambert song for the first time away at swindon in our first season in league one. We lost and the words he'll take us to the priemier league seemed like a long away... Probably the main reason for our astonishing rise since then great to know he'll end his career with us. Already a true saints legend!
Fantastic news. As I posted on here a week or two ago, I heard Rickie's agent was getting stoney silence from Cortese about an extension, but looks like it was all sorted. (Whether the media leaks about West Ham interest and other leaks to fans contributed to speeding up Cortese's mind, we'll never know, probably didn't hurt though)
Not that Rickie's rolled back sleeve to reveal his Eterna watch looks obvious or anything Great news and well deserved. Cortese said that our present team are part of the future of the club. We need continuity with addition of a few new signings and youngsters in time.
Naughty Pochettino! Where's his Eterna watch? Yeah it's really nice to see that we are doing things in the right way. Slow improvements to the squad season by season is the most likely route of success without going on a Man City style spending spree. It's nice to reward those players that have helped to get us here too, although it obviously helps that they're good enough!
Haha, was not even vaguely serious. Most expensive watch I've ever owned set me back a princely £30.
Heh, I actually don't have any idea what their price range is, but I can make a pretty good guess that they cost a darned sight more than I'd be willing to pay!
With the best will in the world, he's not going to slow down, is he? I LOVE the fact that despite not being the fastest thing on two legs on any pitch, he has the footballing brain always to be the first to the right spot. He's a diamond and I think he still has improvement in him. Vin
Great news - and he`s a really nice bloke too. My son met him at the till in John Lewis the day after the Coventry game, and he couldn`t have been more pleasant.
