Need to get this off my chest and then I'll back off and try to have a laugh on here - promise!
This wasn't an impossible task for Slade. Less than a dozen games into the season when he came on board, and now about a dozen games later we are just as bad if not worse.
Looking back on this past couple of months, the worse thing that could have happened for us when Slade came in was winning those first 4 home games - that was flattery only to deceive. Apart from the Leeds game (we were just a poor side playing a crap one), Slade got very lucky to take all 12 points from that lot.
Forest were just into a bad run (and still are) and couldn't stop giving us the ball on the day, Ipswich should have been 3-0 up at half time and just fell apart after the break - they lost it, we didn't win it. The Reading game was a joke. Even down to 10 men they should have taken at least a point from the game in that second half as we ran out of ideas. We had no idea how to put that game to bed - it was an identical scenario at Charlton.
As for the rest of the rubbish he's served up in the guise of football since then, we stole the point at home from Rotherham who were far the better team, and the win at Watford was a travesty - they were head and shoulders better than us on the day and proved it in the return on Sunday. Don't even talk about the 3-0 drubbing at Bolton and the clueless tactical defeat by Holloway at Milwall.
Slade and Young are a walking disaster for this club. If Slade had half the integrity he portrays to the media, he'd have resigned after that Sunday fiasco if not before. The "support" for him from Tan is another bloody joke. Being backed by money but not football knowledge in reality means Slade just loses a more credibility.
If the guy stays in the job we'll be lucky that at least Blackpool will almost certainly fill one of the drop spots. Some of the other early season contenders to join them like Brum, Bolton and Fulham are all pulling clear under new managers and will likely overtake us whilst we waffle about under this clown.
I know some on here advocate the KTF principle. I'd prefer to call that blind faith - t's the Micawber approach to problems - don't worry, something is bound to turn up. Sorry guys but I've had it for now. I've seen some bad stuff this past 40 years but at least as bad as it weas, those at the club recognised it at the time - this lot with Tan at the helm are riding us into oblivion.
I won't be there on Friday and right now I'm seriously thinking about staying away from the Fulham game. If we get nothing from that, then we've got Norwich and Middlesbrough away, and then Derby at home. We could easily be bottom 6 by then and scrapping to stay out of the drop zone.
If Slade and Young don't go from the club shortly, I will until they do like many have already. If they do get us up running again I'll eat my words, but I think Lazarus had a better chance than we do under this lot.
