Thank you guys, I have breaking but unconfirmed news, from a source very close to Connor Wickham, that he has signed a 5 year deal with Sunderland.
My source tells me that he passed his medical early this morning and agreed personal terms very quickly. Things then became complicated with late and better bids from Liverpool, Arsenal, Man U, Chelsea, Newcastle and Stoke, Harry said he always liked the boy.
He was tempted to talk to Liverpool but dismissed the others out of hand but pledged his future to Sunderland after two key events.
His new club took him on a tour of The Bridges shopping centre then showed him a penthouse apartment overlooking Seaburn pier that could be his. All of that impressed Connor but the deal was swung following a private meeting with Sunderland chairman Niall Quinn. It is reported that Quinn told Wickham that after Flo and Stead a 3 goal return would guarantee him legend status at Sunderland. He then explained how the Sunderland fans loved a big **** house and recounted his own experience. I came here with two knackerd knees and well past me prime and all I did was win the ball in the air and knock it down for wee Kev to score, now I run the ****ing place, its that easy.
