I really would love for it come off but if I was a 29 year-old brazilian with the option to play in front of 18000 for a small English team on the up for, say, 70k per week or the biggest club in France for better money and Champions' League football it seems a no-brainer. The only thing in our favour, assuming PSG match the bid, which they surely will, is Alex not wanting to move his family across.
Paris is only two and a half hours on the Eurostar, he could commute. I hope he comes to us but it depends how ambitious he is...
I keep seeing that his family are very settled in London, this would obviously be a big part of his decision! I really hope we get him, it could open the flood gates, when players we are chasing see we are signing the likes of Alex it will give them some confidence that we are here to stay.
Will he play at PSG? It all depends how much he wants to play football. He will be first choice at QPR, he'll play every game.
really hope we can get him to sign, the last 2 centre halfs that we signed from chelsea were steve wicks and dave webb and they weren't bad .
Can't fault what those two brought to the club eh Dan!!! Alex will be a great signing if we manage to agree terms. Getting two top CB's must be a top priority for us. We need that solid spine through the team and two top CB's is the solid foundation to that spine. Let's hope that the association with Koorabchian has 'done deal' written all over it!
