DC has confirmed that Lee Brown is leaving Rovers at the end of the season. In fact, his last game will be at the Mem this Saturday and will miss the final game. DC also confirmed Brown will be given the captains armband for the game. DC said Brown is not leaving for football reasons as he loves the club and is very happy at Rovers. However he has been struggling this season with family issues and now needs to be closer to London to be with his family so he will be leaving us for family reasons. Since joining us back in 2011 under Buckle, Brown has been ever present at left back and made that position his own. He stayed very loyal to us when others quickly jumped ship after we fell out of the football league. He was rewarded for that by getting the all important injury time winning goal to secure us promotion to league 1.
Players, Managers, Directors and Owners all come and go, we're here for life but Browner will always go down in my book as a very loyal and likeable member of our football club, one to be truly remembered.
Stuck by us when others jumped ship and scored some cracking goals and crucial goals. All the best to him. Can't believe he's been commuting from London all this time.
Gashead79 Thanks for putting that interview on, a really good player for us and one who had loyalty to this club when it needed it, hope he comes back to see us one day though not as a player if he is on top of his game
